thePlease, I'm not trying to be funny. I'm succeeding. I appreciate the question.

Once again, I direct everyone's attention to another ytmnd that I created on this subject that is more modern (read: animated) than this one. As it turns out, Anna Nicole is NOT still dead: http://shesnotdead.ytmnd.com

BrokenVisage, it wasn't just some slip of the tongue. Cafferty's comment was completely intentional. His comment speaks to the media's tendency to take unimportant and uninteresting stories, in this case Anna Nicole's death, and discuss them ad nauseam. If you're at all familiar with 24-hour news channels, you know what he's talking about.

I've made another ytmnd on this subject that proves that Cafferty's question may not have been all that far-fetched: http://shesnotdead.ytmnd.com/

Vergeh...good point. Fixed it.

KaneRobot, actually, I don't think this is topical nonsense at all. Although it specifically deals with the Anna Nicole Smith situation, the sentiment expressed is relevant to all news media and the cult of celebrity. The next time that some unimportant celebrity dies, the sentiment expressed here by Cafferty will be relevant again. The statement is a commentary not on the death of Anna Nicole but more broadly on the 24-hour news outlets and their tendency to play a story to death.

Locke5, precisely. idownvote has an extremely naive understanding of the creative process, all of his posturing to the contrary notwithstanding. Much of ytmnd is humorous because it invokes cultural icons and schemas that resonate with the viewers. In order to achieve this resonance, the ytmnd creator must invariably "steal," in idownvote's terms, from another source. To do otherwise would constitute an "inside joke" site, which as we all know is highly discouraged by ytmnd.

Now you are suggesting that I've stolen "the work of others"? I thought that stealing to you referred only to whether your retarded cousin could reproduce a given site. Now you are suggesting that I've co-opted someone else's work. Whose work did I steal? And what man is an island that he must not rely on the work of others to produce his own?

I didn't invoke your ytmnds for their lack of quality. Rather, I invoked them because they featured stolen content, at least insofar as you define "stolen." Your most popular and highest rated ytmnd featured a single picture of Samuel L. Jackson and audio from the Snakes on a Plane website. Where was your moral indignation when you made that site? I can be tolerant of idiocy, as it can be forgiven. But hypocrisy and a concerted effort to hide it is unforgivable. Looks like I have the moral highground now.

Who said I was proud of this ytmnd? Or that I consider it to be art? I just thought it was a perfect and incisive commentary on the whole subject. By the way, what happened to your created ytmnds that used to be linked to your profile but are no longer there?

Not anyone who disagrees with me is a jackoff, just you. You're making much ado about nothing like some self-righteous moral crusader. You're wasting your time and your indignation. It's a hilarious clip. It wasn't stolen. And you come across as an idiot for constantly and erroneously suggesting that you've found the possible source of it. As for your concern, next time I'll try to get my CNN-related ytmnd's up within minutes of their airing, lest they be suspected of thievery.

A jackoff indeed. I think its hilarious that idownvote is going to such trouble in his attempt to prove that the material for this ytmnd was stolen. It wasn't. The funniest part of his futile quest is that you could find other versions of the video or audio featured in nearly every ytmnd somewhere on the internet. Were they also stolen? Oh, and this ytmnd is not an example of a newscaster making a "mistaek." It was an intentional, albeit insensitive, commentary on the neverending news coverage of her death.

idownvote, you're a douche. I did not steal from youtube, but I appreciate you doing the investigation and premature accusation, you little sleuth, you. I also appreciate that you vote on things based on the way that others have voted. It is your job, after all, to keep others' votes in check. You are the keeper of the balance of power. You are the guarantor of justice. Bravo! As for your calling it quits, that sounds fine to me, as most of your ytmnds are pretty dumb anyway.

Yeah, I don't expect it to last. But I still think that this is the funniest thing I've ever heard on the news, if only because it is oh so true.
