The stuff about everything having a prior cause can't apply to everything. For example, you can go to an elementary school question: Which came first? The chicken or the egg? So an egg needs a chicken and a chicken needs an egg so the chicken just existed before the egg. Therefore the universe could've just existed before everything else made.
