Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip on Thursday struck two high-rise buildings housing international media, drawing sharp criticism from the Foreign Press Association. Two journalists were moderately wounded when Israeli fire hit a Palestinian media center that works with international media and is located two floors above the Reuters news agency. TV footage showed the wounded men in flak jackets marked "press" being rushed to the hospital.
Chris Hedges Pulitzer prize winning journalist, former New York Times Mideast Bureau Chief and author of many books. Spoke of how propaganda and lies that are propagated by the Israeli government and the mainstream media to make the genocide look like a "war" with two opposing parties. "It is not a war" Mr. Hedges proclaimed, "it is murder". One example of such propaganda cited by Mr Hedges was the claim that "terrorists" are hiding among the Palestinian population and that therefore 'collateral damage'
Vanessa Redgrave elaborated on the complete hopelessness of the situation; of a trapped starved and systematically slaughtered people that have absolutely no means to defend themselves - other then their almost completely useless self-made rockets. [editor's note: there is serious questions as to the authorship of these rockets] She also expressly addressed the psychopathic nature of the perpetrators of the killings and their supporters. Her main point was the shared guilt of all Israel-enablers that provide money and weapons to the Israeli state, specifically the US, the UK and other European nations.
Finally congresswoman Cynthia McKinney elaborated on her efforts to personally deliver 3 tonnes of humanitarian aid from Cyprus to Gaza. She explained how the Israeli military had been briefed on the trip beforehand through multiple official channels but that the Israeli Navy nevertheless attacked them with several war ships. Unprovoked and without warning the Israeli navy rammed the boat from multiple angles in complete darkness and almost sank the vessel. McKinney told how the Israeli military later lied by claiming that the aid bearing vessel tried to out run the Navy and that they thought that they were "terrorists". She gave witness of how a CNN reporter on board was on the phone with CNN at the time, entrenched in a hot argument as CNN tried to convince their own reporter to report the story with the Israeli propaganda spin, which the reporter opposed vehemently. McKinney then informed the audience that Israel of course is unaware that the whole incident has been recorded on videotape.
The bottom line of the evening's discussion was that the situation in Gaza is beyond comprehension. A defenseless, densely populated concentration camp of Palestinian civilians is being relentlessly pounded by an overwhelming Israeli military, using US-supplied F16 fighter jets, Apache Helicopters, 'Bunker-buster' bombs and Gun Boats targeting schools, mosques, hospitals and women and children. The Israeli military, under direct orders from the Israeli government, is also using horrendous chemical weapons such as white phosphorus and depleted uranium shells. Over 1000 people have already died and several thousand wounded men, women and children will die, slowly, bleeding to death, as aid is deliberately denied, and all of it sanctioned by the US, British and French governments
Hammas has the destruction of Israeli as a goal in their charter. Yeah, crappy rockets are just a joke and Hammas really just wants peace, right? Hammas totally doesn't use human shields to rack up Palestinian fatalities to raise anti-Israel sentiment, because like, glorifying so-called martyrdom (blowing up busloads of children, et cetera) doesn't mean they are a death cult or anything.
Palestinians want peace? Maybe they need to live in peace with the Jews like the 20% of Israeli Muslims that do.
Gerald Kaufman, a governing Labour Party legislator, sharply criticized Israel in a House of Commons debate on Gaza, arguing that the Jewish state has exploited guilt that much of the world feels for having ignored the slaughter of millions of Jews during World War II.
"The present Israeli government ruthlessly and cynically exploits the continuing guilt from Gentiles over the slaughter of Jews in the Holocaust as justification for their murder of Palestinians," he said.
The offensive started in response to Hamas rocket attacks on Israeli cities. Medical officials in Gaza say about 1,100 Palestinians have been killed since the offensive started.
Kaufman, a frequent critic of Israel who was raised as an Orthodox Jew, commented on the claim that large numbers of the Palestinian victims were militants.
"I suppose the Jews fighting for their lives in the Warsaw ghetto could have been dismissed as militants," he said.
Kaufman urged the British government to impose an arms embargo
The problem is that the media is not questioning Israels actions. It's completley biased. If this situation was reversed I'd be supporting Israel. I also don't support Hamas. No this site is saying Israel went to war on propaganda. The ministry of foreign affairs and Israeli students have been fabricating public opinion on the 'war' via the internet. War used losely when the correct term is genocide. No foreign press have been allowed into Gaza, with reports of kill orders for press that were already in the 'war' zone. Israelis should accept that they are to blame for creating concentration camps that have resistance fighters.
When a first world nation socially engineers a third world nation to create the desired results it needs. Then that first world nation will always be in the wrong. Have you people never heard of blood diamonds? Can you not grasp that societys, cultures and entires opinions of people can be engineered? All nations seek to influence other nations for their own benefit. It is not wrong, it is just the natural law of the world. The question is, does the influenced nation itself benefit from the interaction? In the case of the United States, our influence is almost always positive, & this is unique. Even countries that we defeat in battle, we end up supporting. Just look at England, Germany, Japan, Iraq (WIP but already an ally), etc.
Since you mentioned Iran. The georgian conflict was an attempt by Israel/America to tie up Russia in guerilla warfare which would have left them unable to either aid or supply arms to Iran thus leaving an invasion open for American/Israel. It's been put on the back burner but it's still very likely that Iran will be invaded soon. All America/Israel needs is an excuse. Iran burned down the Reichstag. Get em.
Hey look at this! On the 17th I stated how Israel/America will be attacking Iran soon. Then bam. Israel has started a 600 spot tv ad campaign demonising Iran. The ground work has been layed for public support. Now all it needs is its unquestioning Americans tax money and children to go die for them.
If Hamas had the means to detonate a nuclear weapon in Israel and kill a couple million civilians they would do it in a heartbeat. If Gazans don't support Hamas they should work together to get rid of them instead of piling on rooftops to protect them when the bombs drop. Qassam rockets are not the only threat to Israeli citizens; has everyone forgotten about suicide bombers? ANY attack on a nation's people is unacceptable and justifies military action. Props to Israel for taking on a genocidal terrorist culture of hatred.

I think you mean Props to Israel for creating a 'terrorist' culture of hatred. So Israel bombs Gaza and it's citizens into the stone age, creates sanctions and treats them less than animals. Then you complain that Palestinans bay for the blood of Israel. How short sighted are you? Your argument can be explained as such. It's not a "jews control the media" thing. The demands of for-profit media lead to uncritically parroting the official line. The perfect terrorist technique is being immaculately carried out by the Israeli army. You drop a bomb, wait for the first-aiders, then drop another bomb on the wounded and the first-aiders.
some essential defensive weapons that the Palestinian people need urgently just to defend themselves:
1. 3000 short and medium range Anti-Aircraft Missiles so Palestinians can defend their sky from Israeli Jets.
2. 1000 Anti-Aircraft Guns so Palestinians can defend their sky from Israeli attack helicopters and surveillance planes.
3. 750 radar guided Ground to Sea Missiles so Palestinians can defend their cities from Israeli Navy indiscriminate killing.
4. 10,000 Anti Tank Missiles so Palestinians can prevent Israeli tanks and armoured vehicles from driving over Palestinian neighborhoods and refugee camps.
5. 2000 ambulances. We need plenty because Israeli Army regards ambulances and emergency rescuers as an easy military target.
6. 2500 cruise missiles, just to make sure that Palestinian combatants can target Israeli decision makers and military strategic centres instead of the habitants of Sderot, Ashkelon and Ashdod.

Hamas reinstates mortar bombs from Gaza Strip into Israel
Israel comes in and tears the Gaza Strip a new one. Sounds perfectly right to me. And since Hamas is a gang of terrorists operating under the disguise of civilians. A lot of civilian deaths are bound to occur.

Nobodys doubting Israel kicks ass, childrens, the elderly. In 20 days 1,075 dead Palestinians, 85% of whom were civilians, and over 5,000 injured, of whom half were under 18 years old. 303 children were atrociously massacred. It's equivalent to saying that for Israel, butchering at least 250 Palestinians is a justified blood-bath in avenging each dead civilian on its own side. It's called self defense you bed wetting prick. Civilian casualties are just a sad part of it. It's war. Get over it. Israel has every right to defend themselves in the fiercest ways they deem necessary. Not only is it necessary to stop the danger and hate they've faced for thousands of years... it's also a deterrent to the sand weasels in Iran. Here's some information about me so you can judge wether or not a fact is true. A few months later it broke in the news that the world has suddenely found out Iran had been trying to create nuclear power. This gets better.
He went on to say how America and Israel had been aware for quite some time about Irans plans for development of Nuclear power. He said that America/Israel had been trying to put sanctions on Iran. Also even to buyout Iran from developing this. Iran had nuclear power in 2002 maybe even sooner. Of course this was what he told me about it. It doesn't make it true, but I trusted what he said. My point is that this incident opened my eyes to how suppresed and manipulated the facts really are.

I know that grabs the emotions of people, but it's like I've said before, civilian casualties are a sad part of war and conflict. I do not work for the military but I support them. I don't trust/agree with every government agency but I still support them as they are still part of what I know is the greatest country on the face of the Earth.
