this is a fairly accurate depiction of an actual 3rd grade chalkboard
July 14th, 2007
(0)
wow times tables? 3rd grade is going to be hard for me :(
July 15th, 2007
(0)
Oh! I understand! This is what was on the chalk board 10 years ago! But for me it was actually 9 years ago since that's when I was in 3rd grade! Freaky, huh? Very thoughtful and nostalgic!
July 15th, 2007
(1)
Lol, a short time after Pokemon cards became popular, my school banned the cards, as kids beat up others for them. Good times, good times.
July 15th, 2007
(0)
I like how the word "gay" gets drawn out of no where. Just like in third grade!
July 15th, 2007
(0)
I like that one kid got completely owned at tic tac toe
July 14th, 2007

July 14th, 2007
(0)

July 15th, 2007
(0)
i believe they were called stooshies.
July 15th, 2007
(0)
I remember hearing that it was in that show "Gargoyles" in the logo
July 15th, 2007
(-1)
yeah, not called stooshies or stussy. Stussy's a girl's clothing brand. But yeah, I remember how cool it was to write those things. "Is the cube's wall facing you... OR ITS TOP?@?!"
July 15th, 2007
(0)
Yeah, I lol'd at the Stussy sign ... they were everywhere back then. Cute.
July 15th, 2007
(0)
that S thing sealed the 5. Everyone thought they were so cool for knowing how to draw them, lol
July 15th, 2007
(0)
haha yeah I know. Even though they were hecka easy.
July 15th, 2007
(0)
haha when i saw those 2 i was like 5! it's weird as hell because that's actually the year i was in 3rd grade.
July 14th, 2007

*nasal voice* "May I have your attention please, may I have your attention please. The children will be going outside on the playground today but will be staying on the black top only."
July 15th, 2007
(0)
Lol I remember that.
July 14th, 2007

July 14th, 2007
(0)
Second for me. Just sayin'.
(0)
3rd for me
July 14th, 2007
(0)
So glad there weren't any fad characters on the board (or I would've hurt random living things).
July 14th, 2007
(1)
ahaha that S thing
July 14th, 2007
(0)
what was that S thing? everybody but me it seemed drew those, the chalkboard is missing girl drawings though
July 14th, 2007
(0)
Since girls had cooties back then I'm not really privy on that kind of information
July 15th, 2007
(0)

July 15th, 2007

I was in high school in 1997
July 14th, 2007
(1)
Lol. It's scary getting old isn't it? Just imagine, one day you'll meet an attractive girl in a bar, and when everyone is telling their stories of "where were you on 9/11?" she'll say kindergarten.
July 14th, 2007
(0)
Yeah I started HS in 1997. I even remember the orientation...they held it in July and I remember thinking why am I in school during July. And everyone remembers their 9/11 story, I was actually home sick (for real not just playing sick) woke up on the couch and thought they were playing the same action movie on a bunch of channels. Knowing about real life sucks, give me that chalkboard again.
July 14th, 2007
(0)
I was in college in 1997. I'm going to go keep getting old now.
July 14th, 2007
(0)
I was in college also. Christ.
July 14th, 2007
(1)
Also I slept through 9/11, I was pissed at my roommates for a month for not waking me up.
(2)
When 9/11 happened I didn't hear about it until 9/12 because I was busy killing bambi's mom.
July 14th, 2007
(0)
Killin Bambi, hell yeah! Wish I could say the same, but I was a HS freshman afraid that my aunt had been killed in the pentagon....

My fifth grade teacher didn't have a problem with Pogs -- except the novelty metal ones shaped like throwing stars.
July 14th, 2007
(0)
Hahahaha, that's actually the last pog I own, it's sparkly and has a spider with a ying-yang on it. Sweet.

thanks...we were pretty much used to "DEAR" time (Drop Everything And Read)
July 15th, 2007
(0)
Oh yeah, I remember that one too, but SSR was the one my teachers used more often
July 15th, 2007
(0)
I remembered "dare" where we wore these plain shirts i dont remember what it stood for though. Like "Drugs Are Really Entertaining" or something like that.
July 15th, 2007
(0)
I remember my school being totally welfare. Wait, it still is!
July 15th, 2007

(0)
Thanx for taking me back 15 years
July 14th, 2007
(0)
Brilliant. That really brought me back. I loved draving those little houses too.
(0)
i learned how to draw one of those without picking up my pen or retracing lines on ZOOM, which i watched from 2nd to 9th grade.
July 15th, 2007
(0)
I loved it , really brought me back to elementary school.
(0)
6 small vertical lines can easily become an S = the best thing i ever learned
July 15th, 2007
(0)
5 for gay and s logo
July 15th, 2007
(0)
OMG LINE LEADER I REMEMBER THAT
July 15th, 2007
(1)
What is this line leader sh*t anyway? When I was a kid the line was in order of height, making the shortest kid in class permanent line leader and permanent object of ridicule.
July 15th, 2007
(0)
cute idea
July 15th, 2007
(0)
Fived for SSR/DEAR.
July 15th, 2007

July 15th, 2007
(0)
I only comment on those ytmnds that I love the most, that make me stare at it for minutes, smiling and laughing, and would look at every other day for a cheer up. This site brought me back to elementary school, I did those S things so much in class, where I lived, that S thing was a sign for my local south side gang,
July 15th, 2007
(0)
3rd grade was 94-95 for me. Not much changed though.
July 15th, 2007
(0)
This brought back some memories... not all of them pleasant. 5'd anyway.
July 15th, 2007
(0)
i was in my retirement home in 1997
July 15th, 2007

-2 for being in the third grade in 1997. Add something about Oregon Trail or Carmen Sandiego ftw!
July 15th, 2007
(0)
That's for computer class, get your 5.5" floppy disks out.
July 15th, 2007
(0)
ah, the simplicity of the 3rd grade... that was almost zen-like.
(0)
it's weird that 3rd grade in 1997 seemed like my third grade in 1990. i very much remember the S things and cubes. pretty cool nonetheless.

Frigging line leader for the win. Ahh, the good old days...
July 15th, 2007
(0)
That S symbol was the sh*t back in the day.
July 15th, 2007
(0)
The year doesn't make any sense... it should be 1979 :)
July 15th, 2007
(0)
You also had strikes for the people's choice's for lunch? :) I remember we had think sheets whenever we got in trouble and had to fill them out.
July 15th, 2007
(0)
I'm in Britain, and we were drawing that S symbol here too. No idea what it meant. Does anyone know?
July 15th, 2007

July 15th, 2007
(0)
Well that settles it, I'm outta here for good. I was in 11th grade in 97. Peace ytmnd.
July 15th, 2007
(0)
How the hell did you remember all those line leader positions?
July 15th, 2007
(0)
Brings back memories!
July 15th, 2007
(0)
wow, i was in kindergarden in 97.... but that S thing..man, that was the sh*t back then. Visual crack.
July 15th, 2007
(0)
The one thing that bugged me more than anything else about 3rd grade was sitting on the bus during a field trip and having to listen to the gaggle of girls slapping their hands and singing about Miss Suzie and a Steamboat.
July 15th, 2007
(0)
Also the fact that my 3rd grade teacher screamed at me in class for claiming that flour tasted like snow.
(0)
Genius.
July 15th, 2007
(0)
... i like it... for some odd reason.... there is no comedy, there is no pop culture references... no irony... it is just plain and simple... a chalk board... man, more people should make ytmnds like this
July 15th, 2007
(0)
lol, Nostalgia.
July 15th, 2007
(0)
the 'cool' S thing did it for me :) We used to draw that all over the place

I remember SSR. But I don't exactly follow the #1 and #2 with lunch.
July 15th, 2007
(0)
(At least at my school) there would be two different lunches that you could get on any given day (say, "nachos with beef and cheese" and "pizza"), and then PB+J. We would just number the first two.
July 15th, 2007
(0)
lol, I remember that n*gg*r 'S' everyone used to draw ion 3rd grade

July 15th, 2007

July 15th, 2007
(0)
Where is the punch line?
(0)
Nice, but not funny, maybe except the 'gay' part.
July 15th, 2007

Back to school, back to school. To prove to dad I am not a fool. I have got my lunch, my shoes tied tight. I hope I don't get in a fight....back to school...back to school.

I seem to remember something about sandwich choices, and I know we had salad choices. We would have to take red laminated strips of paper if we wanted taco salad and green if we wanted chef salad. There was yellow too, but I can't remember what that was for (possibly PB&J). 3rd grade was definitely my favorite year (1997-98) and this site seemed to hit everything right on the money. Everyone was drawing the S that year and I hated it, until someone finally showed me how to draw it. I don't remember anything about the cube though. We also had "lunch tiles" with our names on them, which we placed under our desired lunch. And we also had all those stupid little tasks to do (moving the name tiles after lunch was one of them). I'm not exaggerating when I say that I was the smartest in my class that year. I would always compete with this other dude in everything and I usually came out on top (getting the most stars for completing the most math exercises, other shit). I was the overachiever back then. Then I got to middle school and said "Fuck this shit."

tl;dr
