would you like to swing on a star

Well, theme night sort of failed, but that can partly be blamed on my apathy. I feel it is my duty to open you guys up to culture that you will never be exposed to yourselves, so I'm going to try and continue doing it.
In other news, lulzcon is the first "conference" that has officially invited the ytmnd community into their fold. There will be a YTMND Liaison on site and ROY4L has designed a shirt specially for lulzcon and we are going to see about printing a batch up. So if you are near Chicago or willing to travel, buy tickets soon because they are selling out.
In an unrelated note, Nicholas Gurewitch, author of The Perry Bible Fellowship comic is releasing a book. While I don't know him, I've admired his art for quite a long time, and I'm sure a lot of you have too. So support a real artist and pre order his book, which should be nothing short of spectacular.
Now that I've told you how to spend your money, I can let you know I took a break from working on the API to set up a ytmnd counter strike: source server, mainly so I can log in occasionally and get killed by all of you.
On that note I'm going to the beach for the first time all summer and hope that my pasty translucent skin doesn't scare too many people off. good day.

Polyester is as out there as a comedy as you can get, so you can't expect some 14 year old to get the LAWLz, especially when they are just looking to figure out a way to incorporate Polend into it, or something like that. Next time I say pick a movie that is a bit less bizarre, or a genre that most can sink their teeth into. I had the idea of suggesting a Blaxploitation night, but every f*ckwit on this site would just slap 'Beans n' Cornbread' on the site and we'd be bored to tears.
I think theme night failed not because of what it was about, but that you should have set a single day two weeks ahead, advertised it a lot, let people take time to get ideas and you know, WATCH the movie. Then on the night of the theme night there would be a much greater turnout. You should also change the frontpage so that all YTMND's released under the theme would be put into that category on the frontpage. You can't really expect a turnout when you suggest the theme and don't even say when it is.

Okay, I have an honest question: Is every site going to have its own section of the floor, or is it all going to be mixed together? Because honestly, if there was a segregated ytmnd section that allowed me to avoid the channers and SA weirdos, I might consider going. Better the weirdos you know than the weirdos you don't know.
Calling Chicago a part of the Midwest is like calling Seattle a part of Canada. We are merely Midwest adjacent. So don't expect to find cheap alcohol within the city limits. Oh, and if anyone is willing to pay for my ticket, I'll let them sleep in my un-air-conditioned attic for free. If you die of heatstroke, I'll reimburse you for the ticket.
I know what beach you're going to, all you yuppie scum from NYC come out here, f*ck you, just cause I'm stopping briefly at a stop sign doesn't mean i want you lemming *ss f*ckin pedestrians to walk in front of my car, if you were in a goddamned hurry you'd be driving like I am so WAIT FOR ME TO LEAVE THE F*CKING INTERSECTION AND MAYBE I WON'T HAVE TO LEAN ON MY HORN UNTIL YOU GET OUT OF THE F*CKIN WAY
Good question. Well, legend tells of a time long ago, before the mexicans came.. there were these things called minimum wage jobs where people like yourself could earn money. These days you might try selling drugs, gay prostitution or majoring in business at Harvard. Preferably all three at once for maximum earnings.
