I never said I believed Geller could bend spoons with his mind (although there are reports of people's spoons bending at home when Geller is on TV), I only believe that Randi's explanations do not hold up to scrutiny. This is why he's had to revise his book on Geller three times and counting.
James Randi is a scam artist himself. I grew up watching his debunking of Uri Geller and quickly realized that his explanations didn't hold up. Randi wanted badly to be what Geller became, and wrote him a letter asking if he could join his act. When Geller refused, Randi started his rampage. He sabotage Geller's props (glued them to the table) on the Carson show, and somehow because Geller refused to perform he counts that as a debunking? I had considered making an update to SHATNER IS KIRK but I didn't want to recycle the same site. I was perusing my DVD's (albeit halfheartedly because, well, I've been in a creative slump for a LONG while now) for new footage to pull and do a Chris Pine version. Now I don't have to!
I will never understand why everyone loses all sense of logic when faced with their own mortality. Whether its 5 years or 50, we're going to die - all of us - and its no big deal (or that big of a loss to the cosmos).
