yeah, good point. I suppose the argument could be made that it WAS an ad-lib (or maybe ad-motion) by Harrison Ford who thought it would be funnier rather than an elaborate fight sequence, which was planned. but, Harrison is as much Indy as the script, so I guess I was just wrong. Either way, BLAM! BLAM! BLAM! BLAM!...

In both scripts its established Indy is a veteran of the war (for whatever reason). At any rate, Indy shouldn't be shooting things, let alone Aliens.
