Really? The empirical evidence begs to differ: 1. Calvin is a human boy who carries a tiger plushie with him everywhere he goes. 2. Furthermore, Calvin often imagines this tiger as a sentient, humanoid being, and holds conversatins with him, plays with him, and even lets him sleep in his bed. 3. Calvin often imagines himself as a variety of animals, typically human-like versions of those animals that resemble him, including, among other things, a tiger, an owl, and an elephant. The defense rests.

...You realize, in the strip, Calvin is SIX YEARS OLD, right?

I'm entirely aware. Since when is furry neccessarily an adult subject? I'm not denigrating the strip, I'm just stating a fact: the strip exhibits many characteristics that are hallmarks of furry fandom. Please to not be having a cow, man.

So, I guess you never had an imagination when you were six years old, huh?

Yes, I did. Which is precisely my point. Furry is capable of being innocuous, it's capable of being about something other than sex. C&H contains anthropomorphic animals: therefore, it is furry. I don't see why you're getting worked up.

Be that as it may, the thing is, Hobbes and Calvin's pretending he is being various animals is the product of his imagination, therefore a world unto itself. Furry suggests that Hobbes is a walking, communicating organism that exists in reality (such as Garfield or Snoopy), which Hobbes (argubaly) only exists in reality as an inanimate object. Therefore, even though you do argue with considerable evidence, I accept C&H as a comic strip about a boy with a fantastic imagination.

I do suppose it's a matter of interpretation. Wow, reasoned discussion on YTMND, who'da thunk it?
