Actually some kid showed me how to do this in grade school many years ago. When he did it though it originally looked more like a woman's torso. While I was making a YTMND out of it I noticed it could also be made to look like the male reproductive organ so I went with that instead. I wonder if he got it from the SNL skit you are talking about.
