I don't hate Scientologists, I hate Scientology. And I hate Scientology because it is a scam, as you say. But it's more than that. They will discredit critics, sometimes going so far as to disrupt their personal lives by spreading lies about them, threatening to sue their employers, etc. It's not just a scam, it's dangerous. If you get involved, it's hard to leave. It would be like if Amway was run by the mafia. There are plenty of other stories online, take a look.
