No matter your beliefs about whether America should have invaded Iraq or not, you cannot advocate for immediate troop withdrawal with logic - only Obama's vague, empty promises of "hope" and "change". With this demagoguery, he has become an empty vessel that naïve anti-Bush fanatics (who usually can barely name ANY president, and gobble up every bit of liberal zealotry their bookmarked left-wing blogs spit at them) put their own dreams of what they think "hope" and "change" mean for America into.
While the bumper-sticker phrase "Bring the troops home" sounds warm and fuzzy, anyone with a bit of sense can assess America's foreign policy and realize that a withdrawal from Iraq would mean a genocide.
Iraq cannot maintain their own security yet, so if the US abandoned it the militant Islam leadership would destroy itself.
This has a special relevance in my situation. Similar circumstances enveloped a trip to the theatre last year. my friend, who was 16, worked there and planned to bring me in with him free of charge to see Grindhouse. I was 18 but he needed to be 17 to see it. his manager asked, "Are you 17?" he said, "No, 16." she asked again, "Are you 17?" and winked. My friend, being the dumbass he is, replied "I'm 16 are you deaf!" In conclusion, we never got to see the film and so to this day I have not seen Grindhouse.
