It's so odd to me that you can be so good at pixelart and yet somehow not have a unique, identifiable style. Kinda like an old studio musician shredding out 80s hair metal solos in the back of a Guitar Center.

The edits are not particularly nice. Not that nice edits would even be something to be proud of. Most often "nice edit" sites are the most devoid of creativity. Anyone can chug away at photoshop for 2 hours.

Actually, super, not everyone can chug away at Photoshop for 2 hours and come up with something decent. Clearly, just look around here. My problem with fc's sites is not his skill set. He's good with the software he uses, he picks decent music for his stuff, both of which make him above average here. But there's just always this sort of functional "cover band" quality to them. I guess enough people love the Beatles to also love Beatles cover bands but, meh.

You can't suggest that most people can't make high quality/high efforts sites just because they don't. Mostly I see two kinds of sites: Technically-poor low-effort sites, and technically-competent high-effort sites. I don't see technically-poor high-effort sites. I don't see anyone putting a lot of effort into a site only to have it turn out badly because of a lack of photoshop skills. It seems intuitive to me that if one chugged away long enough at a head paste, it would eventually turn out well...

... with the craftsmanship being learned along the way if need be. My "2 hour" assertion is pithy perhaps, but the point is that technical skill is cheap. I had (and still have) no objections to any of the other assertions you made.

I think you're assuming that a sh*tty Photoshop job is inherently the result of lack of time/effort. I've spent enough time here to see a lot of technically poor, high effort sites slide by. Granted, after years of working with various software, most people usually figure it out but I disagree that everyone does. I've taught various media production for years and seriously, some people just don't ever get it no matter how much time they put into it. But ehh, who cares.
