War, war never changes. The end of the world occurred pretty much as we had predicted: Too many humans, not enough space or resources to go around. The details are trivial and pointless, the reasons, as always, purely human ones. The earth was nearly wiped clean of life, a great cleansing. An atomic spark struck by human hands, quickly raged out of control.

Spears of nuclear fire rained from the skies. Continents were swallowed in flames, and fell beneath the boiling oceans. Humanity was almost extinguished, their spirits becoming part of the background radiation that blanketed the earth. A quiet darkness fell across the planet, lasting many years.

War has changed. It's no longer about nations, ideologies, or ethnicity. It's an endless series of proxy battles fought by mercenaries and machines. War, and its consumption of life has become a well oiled machine. War has changed. ID-tagged soldiers carry ID-tagged weapons, use ID-tagged gear. Nanomachines inside their bodies enhance and regulate their abilities. Genetic control. Information control. Emotional control. Battlefield control. Everything is monitored and kept under control. War has changed.

The age of deterrence has become the age of control. All in the name of averting catastrophe from weapons of mass destruction. And he who controls the battlefield controls history. War has changed. When the battlefield becomes under total control, war becomes routine.

As with most situations like this, the truth lies in the golden mean. Both sides are to a degree right. We develop new ways, new technology, new methods of killing each other. But in the end, that's all that's new - we're still just killing each other.

True. But then again, what does life consist of other than procreation, death, work, taxes, and pleasure? Those tiny details that make each experience unique. For instance, having sex with Rosie O Donnell and Scarlett Johansson would both in theory be acts of procreation (given Rosie actually does have female parts), but it is an entirely different experience. If war is war, and procreation is procreation...you get Rosie. Enjoy.

Eat my ass, por favor. Metal Gear Solid rapes Fallout and then send it home to cry and have horrid flashbacks for the rest of its life. Then one day when Fallout is all grown up with a family of its own, it will suffer a nervous breakdown from the trauma of that night and run away.

When it comes to advice about war Ron Perlman has the final word.

You're right, David Hayter's voice rules everyone including Ron Perlman.

"I was gonna comment on which one is my favorite, but I don't want to alienate a whole demographic of voters." I'm kinda glad the 2008 elections are over: we know WAY too much about politics.
