I was actually having trouble with the file size when I did use it. Do you think I need to be playing around more with the amount of colors, or how much dither I do use.

Well, I don't know, I'm assuming if you're using Photoshop you can use the "Save for Web & Devices" option and that way you can take a look at different optimization configurations, I'm not sure if any versions older than CS3 have that
