I support Barack Obama because his plan to eat babies is fresh and different. John McCain would have us deliver bottled hot water to them, which is the failed policy of the past.

Mccain has absolutely no charisma, and Ron Paul comes across as the crazy old man who sits on a park bench talking to himself (which if he didn't have a seat in congress, he would likely be)

Ron Paul people are mostly self-righteous college students who think they know what politics are because they read about it on some website. The same people who were raging liberals only a few years ago are now suddenly libertarians, when they didn't and probably still don't know what a libertarian is.

I know Ron Paul. I have worked with Ron Paul for many years. You, sir, are no Ron Paul.

"At least RP knows what his policies are. No one knows who's controlling the hollow suit of Obama." Yeah I know, because Obama only wrote 2 books about it. oh wait, that totally undermines what you are saying! Ron Paul is a nutcase, sorry. I mean, he only wants to go back to the gold standard and deregulate everything. If any of his supporters actually thought a few minutes about what that would entail, or knew anything at all about what happened to Enron, and stopped relying on "the worlds smallest Political quiz” to determine their beliefs, maybe they’d dump Doctor Tardis’ ridiculous ass. But don’t mind me, most of his supporters are the same people who think Loose Change is fine journalism.

"Ron Paul people are mostly self-righteous college students who think they know what politics are because they read about it on some website." Whats more to politics than reading about it, instead of people like you who vote forsomeone because they have an (R) next to their name
-3

2008-06-07 21:01:24

"instead of people like you who vote forsomeone because they have an (R) next to their name" - I was worried about the impression I might give to people. I am a libertarian, thats why Ron Paul supporters are so annoying. Considering I can tell they read everything they (constantly) argue about off a website is so obvious that its sad. And saying I only vote for republicans is silly, Ron Paul is a republican and I didn't vote for him.

2008-06-08 04:58:27

Actually, for more Ron Paul supporters are conservatives than liberals. Any liberal who professes to be a Ron Paul supporter does so solely on his stance on Iraq, and is therefore an idiot. Any liberal who's researched Ron Paul's positions should be thoroughly disgusted by him.

I have to admit that I read about Ron Paul on a couple of websites; I still don't see anything wrong with that. I have also watched his debates on TV, and they HAVE showed me something the internet couldn't have told me. Ron Paul contained the Charisma a president needs (McCain had it too). Obama did not have this charisma. It was obvious from the way he never knew how to say and constantly said "uh" that he didn't know what the hell he wanted to do enough to become president. Reminds me of bush.

2008-06-08 09:09:02

"It was obvious from the way he never knew how to say and constantly said "uh" that he didn't know what the hell he wanted to do enough to become president." - so instead of reading his positions you judge by the word "uh"? what logic! while 'uh' can be annoying, people who are speaking off the cuff (and yes, that sometimes even includes Bush) stutter a lot more than those who are just repeating their talking points/stump speeches. Ron Paul's charisma? I watched every republican debate. whenever he spoke He would simply say “Why aren’t we talking about iraq?” “why aren’t we talking about the economy?” “why aren’t we…” and ask questions and scold the debate and the other republicans… without ever actually following through and talking about any of these things. It’s this rebel nature of his that helped him get by all these months with so many of his supporters having no idea what he believes. Most of em didn’t even know he doesn’t believe in evolution. But overall, my biggest
+1

problem with Ron Paul supporters is how they NEVER SHUT UP even when its clear they don’t know what he’s talking about. I can deal with actual libertarians who have been such before this election cycle began, who know who Michael Badnarik is, who have an opinion on Objectivism, who have an opinion on whether Jesse Ventura fits into their fold, who have explanations about how police and fire and money would truly work in their fold, who have decided if they are economic or anarchistic libertarians… most Internet Paultards though? Can’t say the same.

2008-06-08 17:27:34

Even though I don't like him, McCain IS unfortunately going to win the election. That's just where America is at right now. Obama is going to lose so many votes at the booth this year that polls will practically mean nothing.

2008-06-08 18:18:58

It's premature to guess anything, dmaz. In politics, weeks can be years, and massive scandals that would ruin other politicians overseas forever, can be forgotten overnight. at this time in 2004, Kerry was trouncing Bush in the projected electoral college. McCain could very well win, but its just as likely that now that the media will focus on him more, he will show himself to be incredibly gaffe prone and not very educated on the issues, and yes, even so compared to Bush. McCain doesnt have a Rove.

Why does everyone react to trashings of Ron Paul with "WHY DON'T YOU JUST GO READ ABOUT HIM A LITTLE YOU UNEDUCATED F*CK." We did. We read about him, and we surfed the Wikipedia articles on libertarian conservatism, and maybe even read some history about Reagan and Goldwater. And we think Ron Paul is crazy. I'm sorry guys, but this isn't a censorship thing or a 'slanted debate' thing. Like it or not, for better or worse, Ron's message was heard. And rejected. F*ck along now.

2008-06-08 21:09:15

I always thought being a libertarian ment having a libertarian view on political issues. I know that there are many people that are stronger libertarians than me, especially considering that I'm not old enough to vote (also like the nternet paultards you talk about), but you can't dismiss those people just because they didnt dedicate so much time into reading about libertarianism. Being a libertarian isn't about spending your time talking to libertarians and dedicating hours to reinforce your beliefs,

The fact that he actually said that is moronic enough, but think about it: why should we deliver bottled hot water to them in the first place? Thats a waste of energy, incubating hot water. Why not deliver room temperature water, then warm it up before you give it to them?

More republican bellyaching about what a miserable place the USA is. USA is the best country that ever lived. As a dehydrated babie i had all the hot bottled water you can shake a stick at and i'm sure you did too.

So I take it you're voting McCain then.

I love that man. He's a hot GFILF I'd love to see in a lemon party.

John Mccain has an army of rubber wombats in his ass, poised to detonate a bomb in the center of the moon, releasing the souls of woolly mammoths who will in turn, establish a corporate empire centered around selling cat food made out of the flesh of elves

Wow, a normal president would just send bottled water, but McCain is willing to go through all the trouble of heating it up for us too?!

wont somebody think of the children?

It sounded like he said, "bottle-hot water," as in water that is heated to the accepted temperature usually associated with baby bottles. Am I just doing mental gymnastics or is his adjective, "bottle-hot"? Either way, you're overly reductive, as liberals tend to be. Why don't you pick apart all of Yogi Berra's quotes next and get the same 'humorous' result?

Yep, Jed.
