Okay, I can't satisfy everyone. And you know what? I am tired of trying to. It is partially my fault for taking a lot of things to seriously. I'd like to be an honest guy, share my opinion and debate a little, but if people are going to be so petty when criticizing my ytmnd, I am just going to stop acknowledging them. There is no reason. I was mostly saying this about the DTMB fad in paticular. And while this kind of site has been done before, it has never been a fad, it has never been popular.

not every fad is a one note joke that gets repeated without any evolution to the original idea, and when that one joke takes off at an insane rate and gets repeated dozens of times with little effort, you are bound to get annoyed. For example all the DTMB sites have to involve a lousy remix just because the first few good spinoffs had one.

I'd rather put the original YTMND since it started it all. It would explain how it works (sometimes).

Yes but just because it is a similar idea doesn't mean I would call this a fad. Nor would I call it uninspired. So when is it okay to make a site like this? Do I have to be ROY4L? Do I have to admit that this fad hasn't gotten out of control? Because I think that was the main message I was conveying here.

Well I'm against making sites about ytmnd to begin with. They're self-indulgent and not relevant to the casual visitor. But you could at least come up with something isn't basically the same thing ROY4L did.

Good point. I would like to say though, that the casual visitor doesn't matter much in terms of relevance to ytmnd. Most can't vote, and they are here for a quick laugh, so they look for sites they want to see and ignore the rest. Their input is inconsequential. Most people who vote understand this site enough to be relevant. And how aren't all sites a form of self-indulgence? We do it for ourselves as much as we do it for everyone else.

That being said, doing this in a more original format would have made this site better as well as receive less criticism for being contradictory to the message. I'm sorry, but this was the best I could think of to convey the message. Is it so bad that it is similar to ROY4L's site? ROY4L makes great sites. I mean, I wasn't intentionally follow ROY4L's template... It just ended up being that way.

actually wizzy, there ALWAYS seems to be a site about overdone fads like this. whenever a certain fad starts taking up most of the front page, one usually comes out, even if it isn't a recycling machine. In fact, you've already made one in your milla fad machine. So this is kinda the "Look at how ridiculously overdone this fad is" fad, I guess you could say.

hmmm true. The main difference is that I actually liked the milla fad, and my milla fad site was only playfully criticizing the limitations of the fad. I mean, it basically had to be the same milla gif cutout so sites in the fad were pretty limited, but it was fun to see who could be creative with such large limitations. And then I thought to myself, hey why make one spinoff if I can make 20? And that's what I did.

That's not what I meant at all. Fine, since everyone seems to be making me out as the bad guy for refusing to take part in this recent fad, I will reiterate. I am not saying all the sites made from this recent fad are bad, I am just saying this fad in particular has gotten so out of control, it has become like a unified crap spewing machine with little to no originality or humor. Just the same joke every time. Itcan only be stretched so far, and its reached the point where nothing good coming out of it.

My two previous sites were never worn out fads as far as I know, and more importantly they aren't popular right now, so no one is annoyed or tired of it. In addition I added something noteworthy to them, a new twist. It isn't just the same joke over and over like most of the DTMB fad sites that are currently being shoved down our throats. I am not being an egotistical prick who has double standards about everything. There are a lot of good fad sites, but there is a lot of crap out there too.
