You pushed your video card to the edge and it drew too much power. :/ What are your system specs? A lot of times people will think since the computer starts up and they can play counter strike or something, that the PSU is supplying the right ammount of power. Instead, once the GPU gets under load and needs it's peak power requirement, it puts tremendous stress on the PSU. If you look at your psu and see swollen caps, its a good sign its not enough power and will eventually go out.

Also, not having adequate power can make your gpu run even hotter, which is damaging to the video card. I had an X1800XT on a 500W psu and everything ran fine. When I put in my 8800GTS 640, it idled at 65C loaded at 85-90C, I could smell that burning electronic smell and sure enough after a week of use all the caps were swollen. I replaced it with a GamerXStream 750w and there hasn't been any bad smells or swollen caps, and my idle/load temps came down to 58/70

Yeah, that's my power supply. It was an Antec Smartpower 350W, which is a very reputable brand, so having it blow was quite surprising. The mainboard had some caps that looked bad and when I replaced the PSU it didn't POST, so it'll need to be replaced as well. Now I just need to look at my bank account and figure out if I can afford a brand new system as opposed to trying to get an old socket A motherboard.

The guy was just trying to make a humorous site. I doubt he was looking for the resident computer experts to come scampering over and post their diagnoses in comments.

well bioshack uses some sh*t *ss DRM that if you reformat your computer and forget to uninstall bioshock first through add/remove programs you can't reinstall it on a fresh install of windows

That sucks, and it happened to me with Steam

actually you get five f*ckups now, so you can install it five times without uninstalling it. It's actually possible to instill it 5 times on 5 computers, so 25 installations are now possible even if every one isn't a registered uninstall.
