| The irony in your site is that Byrd is a rabid defender of the ideals of a Republic over the spread of Empire. He may be a bit senile lately but he's also an expert in Roman history and could explain at length why life in pre-Caesar Rome far outweighed daily life in Sparta. Further, he draws clear parallels between the militarism of Caesar's Rome and that of the Bush regime, and thus the fall of both Republics. |
