Oh! I understand! You gathered the logic of the 08 elections to predict an outcome that MIGHT actually happen! Very thoughtful!

F*ck sakes guys, Ron Paul's okay, but those of us in the rest of the western world with healthcare think that someone who maybe, I dunno, gives a sh*t about that, might improve your lives. Though out of selfish interests, I think that a Paul presidency would be better for Canadians... oh wait, forgot what I was gonna say. Politics, 5'd. +1 for calling Hilary an angry lesbian for lulz' sake

2007-07-14 23:12:39

All the handwringing over whether as a nation we're more misogynistic or racist really depresses me. We've historically disenfranchised both groups and granted them greater freedoms, but along different timelines, so I wouldn't say one has a greater advantage over the other at this point. Oh, and to you Ron Paul people, yeah, he's an honest guy, but a lot of what he says coincides with those NWO conspiracy theory pricks. Absolute distrust of almost all government is not the way forward.

So... if Hilary gets nominated, the country is racist, if Obama gets nominated, the country is sexist, and if Edwards gets nominated, it's both? You seem to be painting the country into a corner here.

I'm not sure if I agree with this prediction or not, or even what the hell will happen considering all the rage about the "unknown" candidates, so I'll abstain from voting and just say that Cutie Honey (also spelled Cutey Honey) is a Japanese media franchise created by Go Nagai. Cutie Honey first appears on volume 41 of the 1973 edition of Shōnen Champion. The titular character of Honey is considered the prototype for the transforming magical girl.

It's true. It's also funny - most of the country would not vote republican right now thanks to the horrible screw ups of GWB, but the only way they could throw the election away is to nominate hillary, and they probably will.

I can never understand how Democrats can like Hillary. Maybe I'm missing something, but Obama seems far better than Hillary -- at least he hasn't gotten into bed with every special interest and lobbyist on Capitol Hill. Get that, Dems? If you nominate Hillary, then you care more about party than country. And you're going to lose. And we'll have to deal with Romney and his double-sized Gitmo.

The evangelicals have such a stranglehold on the Republican party right now that they'd never allow the party to nominate a Mormon. Simple as that. And speaking as moderate liberal, I actually like Romney's politics alot. Even though he's taking on a bullsh*t pro-life anti-gay stance for the purposes of this election, those don't seem to be his genuine views.
+1

2007-07-18 15:38:06

As someone who considers herself a moderate conservative, it makes me sad every time I'm forced to think about that fact, me being atheist and all. But still, I don't think I could trust a moron, I mean Mormon, just given the ridiculous history of their church and in light of that, the sheer lunacy of someone who could believe something like that, in my opinion, so once again I'm thrust in a position where I am able to stand behind "my party", even if for totally different reasons then someone would expect
+1

2007-07-18 15:40:57

(another good example of this is the fact that I'm pro-life, but not for any sort of religious reasons whatsoever). I think we have our best chance of winning if we go with Rudy, even though I'm uncomfortable with his stance on gun control and abortion. I'm willing to sacrifice a little though for national security. Plus, just because he kind of condones abortion doesn't mean he supports it. I'm just looking for a Republican canidate who's pro-gay rights. :(

Hmm this makes me want to actually read up on the election stuff. But yea I think unless Hillary slips up, she'll beat Obama for the reason that you mentioned: dem's will think swing voters will be more familiar with Hillary and won't be interested in a black president...which is probably not true.
2007-07-15 00:21:17

Yeah... I was hoping for Jim Gilmore, but he withdrew from the race... Romny-Guliani 08?
2007-07-15 00:21:57

I disagree. Democrats will elect Obama, as they know the rest of the country is not ready for another Clinton so soon. Romny creeps out too many people because he's a Mormon, and McCain's alienated everyone in some way or another. Rudy has the best chance, but he really only has 9/11 to stand on, and it's pretty shaky as a campaign platform. He'll look like an idiot in the debates unless somebody does a bad makeup job on Obama. Dissent and unhapiness about Iraq and etc. should lead to a Dem victory.

I actually wouldn't mind Romney. He is able to draw bi-partisan support in such a blue state and I think we need a guy who can mend the schism between both parties. I'm still pulling for Obama or Paul though.

2007-07-25 14:03:08

Romney only got that support by running center-left, he didn't have his big Neo-Con awakening until people started grooming him for the presidential race. As far as the presidential race, I'm expecting a repeat of '04. D: Iraq is a quagmire! R: Vote for us or terrorists will kill you! (Repeat)
