I think some users would have more respect if they could be 100% sure how serious Max is about YTMND's future...

I really think finishing the mod system and adding Top Rated and Most Voted back onto the default front page would make the site a lot less stale. Also note the increase in sponsorship. In addition, a feature to disallow the posting of GIFs, images and possibly audio that have already been put up would greatly assist. It would mean a lot less of the same junk. I really don't think the site is doomed. Surely, if you're having so much trouble you could get some assistance much like syncan provided?

I also think a "Top Rated" tallied daily, perhaps another weekly, and a "Most Voted" would really bring back a lot of incentive for users to create new content. Also, placing a "worthwhile YTMNDs" in a prominent section of the homepage is entirely counterproductive and misguided: YTMND is all about the zeitgeist of the day; of the week; of the instant even. It's all about being timely, recognizing and playing with the latest fads while they are in the public consciousness.

Perhaps, but I think the Worthwhile section needs to stay. Without it many good sites are left to gather dust. It's current form is working well, providing a small but steady income of views to the YTMNDs that meet the prerequisites - it's where about half my views seem to come from.
