What about that site? It's not formulaic. It may be a take on a fad, but it's an original and cynical spin on it. But i have no idea what you meant, because you coughed instead of finishing your sentence. About this site, I called it formulaic because it's the standard "random person does random thing usually having to do with a food item" (See smooth cereal, mariah dances in butter etc.), the subject of the site was cliche, as were the quotes chosen.
