Most of these auctions are cancelled before they can do much damage. This one, apparently, was not (despite the amazing publicity).

I can't believe that people would so willingly put out over $1000, without clearly checking WHAT THE HELL they are buying, and looking over the details. Just like when you're buying a used car, take it to a mechanic to make sure you're not getting gyped. This is money that you have to work for - check what you're going to put it on.

if you look at the link he says "this is only a picture" not "this auction is for the picture" - if the intent was intentionally tricking people will get the auction thrown out and him banned, i guarantee it. i'm not even convinced its a trick, looking at his feedback rating/history. i think you're looking for a prank where there is no prank to be found.
