Actually, they're not direct importants like the PSP. Mario kart is arguably better on the DS than on the GC because it features wireless internet play. The games for the DS get improvements, not downgrades.

The DS has virtually no load time because it uses solid-state flash memory (except when using NWFC which takes a little time to connect.) The PSP takes longer to load becasue of that optical media. Notice how cartridge-based systems have virtually no load

times because the second you turn it on, all data from the cartridge is uploaded into the system. Flash memory FTW. The PSP has some really nice games, but their idea for it being a "media center" phails. Stick to gaming, Sony.

Why does the PSP have a shorter battery life? It has games that overwork the processor to look and play well. You can't hook a desktop computer up to a normal battery and expect 12 hours of life.
