This isn't an issue of religious tolerance, it's an issue of free speech. Namely, it's not so much the existence of a weird belief system that's being opposed as it is the attempts of that organization to silence those who speak against it, often times going far beyond what would be seen as reasonable or ethical means to do so. If Scientology would allow open criticism of it like other religions do, then I'm certain the outcry would not be nearly so large.
