There is no true "intelligence" there as in a lizard or bird. Or cat. D: Mostly a vertebrate/invertebrate division, but there are exceptions.

As for the bug, it LOOKS like it might be of the Coreidae family, but it's doubtful given only the underside for reference. AKA Stink Bug.
