b2lskirnir: Nostalgic humor ytmnds make up a huge portion of these archives. A ytmnd does NOT have to have a loop or convey any sort of intelligence or creativity. Simply put, the point if ytmnds is to entertain. Sure, you could go downlad the music and view the pic, but that would cost effort, take extra time, and ultimately take away from the YTMND experience.

I'm going to have to disagree there. Sites like this do not add to the "YTMND experience" at all. If anything, sites like this make it less interesting and fun. Well, that in addition to NARVs, downvoters, fad whoring, etc. but still, the purpose of YTMND is a humorous juxtaposition of an image, sound, and possibly text to create a desired effect. Repeating exactly what you can see somewhere else and putting it on YTMND is like taking Beethoven's 9th and making it a cell phone ringtone. Yes, I agree there can be some positive things that come out of that, such as maybe introducing one or two people to Beethoven, but it takes away the glory and originality of the source. In this case, and in many new f*ggy short films as well, I see the same problem.
