2006-09-03 21:05:53

Thanks, concerto. I'll work on a 8->16 conversion at the end.
2006-09-03 21:09:10

I want that program
2006-09-03 21:11:30

Is this a real program? Can it really do that?
2006-09-03 21:15:13

The program converts to 8-bit alright, but it really doesn't sound like 8 bit music, it just halves the file size.
2006-09-03 21:23:05

This is heartbreaking.
2006-09-03 21:27:32

the 8but one sucks dick
2006-09-03 21:30:32

i wanted to learn how to do this thanks!
2006-09-03 21:32:20

very cool.
2006-09-03 21:37:10

What program is that?
2006-09-03 21:37:15

2006-09-03 21:39:22

2006-09-03 21:53:53

thats not what happens .... -_- but thanks~!
2006-09-03 21:55:07

Yeah, it doesn't, because 8-bit != Nintendo. ;) Most nintendo music is similar to a computer midi file, which gives it that distinctive sound. Waveform audio was rarely stored on nintendo carts because of it's size.
2006-09-03 21:56:16

AudioView is a real program, but is there a certain version you have to download?
2006-09-03 21:58:06

i agree woth booster what version!?!?!
2006-09-03 21:59:44

We all want this program, dish it out.
2006-09-03 22:03:41

c'mon man, don't hold back!
2006-09-03 22:03:49

O_o can you teach us how to really make something sound 8-bit?
2006-09-03 22:04:50

I never get tired of hearing the extended version of that song.
2006-09-03 22:07:34

it says right on the picture what prgram it is, just need to know the version
2006-09-03 22:13:31

IT DOES NOT MAKE IT SOUND LIKE A NINTENDO, READ YOU IDIOTS
2006-09-03 22:14:46

no sh*t but i like the sound of it
2006-09-03 22:16:25

I don't care if it doesn't sound like Nintendo, I want to know the program version.

2006-09-03 23:09:20

what program is that?
2006-09-03 23:14:10

I learn something everyday. Never thought of messing with that setting... Thanks.
2006-09-03 23:18:14

woot!
2006-09-03 23:24:21

You guys are all Fvcking retarded...alls that program does is make the file size smaller.. and the sound quallity sh*ty not videogame like. in order to make somthing sound "8-bit" like somthing out of a video game one would need a seperate program like a midi program with samples of audio and transcribe the song by inputing each note individually..which will take several hours if not days of time depending on how many tracks/layers you want and how good you want it to sound. dont get your hopes up.
2006-09-03 23:24:57

With that said i still think this ytmnd is sick
2006-09-03 23:25:47

It would be nice if you gave us the download for this program. :D
2006-09-03 23:26:20

I likes.
2006-09-03 23:26:41

not to mention, when he clicks "16 > 8" it does change the song, but the sound quality properties at the bottom remain the same (it says 44100khz or whatever and 16 bit... It can't be 16 bit if it's 8 bit so...ya).
2006-09-03 23:40:25

lol fake.
2006-09-03 23:41:34

was it really that easy
2006-09-03 23:43:15

They(Game Developers) wrote the music to a text file and had the CHIP(tune synth chip) decode it in real time. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chip_music That said, this doesn't sound that bad, but not so epic. First comment on YTMND.
2006-09-03 23:59:30

you win, keep up the good work. ;D
2006-09-04 00:06:15

orangelounge's nesepicbike is among the first sites to use an 8-bit Epic.
2006-09-04 00:19:11

It's fake...but I think that adds to the comedy.
2006-09-04 00:24:18

Syncing would make a 5, and possibly a fav.

2006-09-04 08:36:22

I only wish that making 8-bit style music was that easy. This is an ancient version of AudioView that is no longer available, but you can go to http://voyetra.com/ to get the new AudioView.
2006-09-04 09:39:18

2006-09-04 09:41:35

2006-09-04 10:22:03

is this program better than audacity?
2006-09-04 10:26:52

^I've never used audacity, so I don't know.
2006-09-04 10:28:25

first "epic" YTMND for a long time that shows some idea
2006-09-04 10:30:10

voyetra!
2006-09-04 10:40:57

An 8-bit sample just sounds crappier, but you do not have suddenly a sythesizer sample. But i know that you intended e.g. an 8-bit NES-System with that. so 4 stars
2006-09-04 10:58:39

epic!
2006-09-04 11:10:19

Sure it is cool, too bad you have to buy the f*cking program in order to use it :
2006-09-04 11:25:58

2006-09-04 12:01:32

2006-09-04 12:09:10

Funny, but -1 for low pitch 8-bit raping my ears.
2006-09-04 13:20:55

Really, guys... this doesn't make NES style music. It just halves the file size. If it were that eassy, think of how many more 8-bit YTMNDs would be out there.
2006-09-04 14:48:02

daddy like
2006-09-04 14:51:19

Update: bottom now changes from 16 to 8 bits, and it loops properly as far as I can tell.
2006-09-04 15:13:03

Only the beginning sounds good in 8-bit.
2006-09-04 15:19:29

2006-09-04 21:44:27

I wanna take a basic recording/studio arts class. I love this kinda sh*t. Too bad these classes always fill up hella quick.
2006-09-04 21:51:34

Wow, I think I have this program on my old Gateway 2000. That and a Midi thing that I can set to the "chirp" instrument to drive my cat completely insane. Is the program real old?
2006-09-05 01:59:05

What is the program to convert regular mp3 song's to a 8bit / nintendo like song. Is there a program? I've read all the comments and I'm leaning toward this was a joke I guess and the program does not exist or ISN'T obtainable, please post back on one of my ytmnd's or here.
2006-09-05 06:24:03

Awesome. So where I get that program
2006-09-05 14:12:13

Bob042: yes, this is an old program from the old Gateway 2000s. Espie: This program is real, but converting to 8-bit NES Style music is a joke, there is no program like that. "8 bit" on this program refers to the biterate. It halves the biterate, not converting it to NES music, but halving the filesize.
2006-09-05 14:52:49

bah,it was a trap!>:(
2006-09-05 18:07:19

HOLY SH*T IM DOWNLOADING THIS RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!!1111!!!!!
2006-09-06 08:23:16

You made me download a program that doesn't do what you claim it does. Thanks for nothing!
2006-09-06 12:35:08

^I thoroughly explained this already 2 times. Once more: it's a joke.
2006-09-06 13:43:34

I know. I'm exaggerating. '_'
2006-09-06 13:44:40

^ah, you got me.
2006-09-08 19:23:54

This is awesome beyond comprehension. Okay, not quite that far I guess. It's still frichen awesome.

2007-04-07 21:21:34

What program is that and where can I get it?
2007-08-02 11:21:45

For all the asshats going "ZOMG THAT DUSNT HAPPN WEN U DO DAT 1", you people need to learn what humor is about. In fact, it is NOT about things happening that would happen in any normal circumstance, quite the contrary, that is what makes it funny. Well done, fantum.
