I've found that if you leave some people positive comments/votes they go on to check out your sites....at least that is what i do....and get.....sometimes.

actually i had my sites come back from abyss back to up and comming. Also you hsould mention that after it goes to abyss, the score gradually decreases at a slaow rate until it evens out at about 3.4 or 3.2, depending on the initial score

So so true. My second ever on the Up & Coming (http://alderaanexploding.ytmnd.com/ )was only on there for about 30 seconds until some lame *ss downvoters got at it. At least my first U&C one was there for a good hour or so.

Hey my YTMND went off up and coming for about 45 mins, after that it shot back up to 3rd on the list. I guess I'm just lucky huh? 5 for you because I'm not a dick who goes around downvoting the up&comings higher than me so that mine will go up.

pretty accurate. but sites can fall off and get back on all the time. if you are a more active user and people are clicking your profile then it has the chance for friendly eyes to give you a hand back up for a second chance. if you never vote or comment your profile will gain cobwebs.

There's a cap at the # of votes a site can have before it's no longer eligible for up and coming. It was extended from 200, not sure what it is now.

I love how NARV has become this all-encompassing term for anyone with different taste than yourself and can be either an upvoter or a downvoter, depending on who is using the term.

My YTMNDs follow a different pattern. Stage 1: On newest created. Stage 2: Get downvoted. Stage 3: Go into the corner and cry because there are people dedicated to downvoting my sites as soon as I make them.

Yeah, yeah, sites aren't automatically always killed the second they leave the front page, and sometimes you can get back on the U&C after leaving it, but once it leaves and stays off you'll have a hard time getting traffic. Unless you're one of the really well known YTMNDers or have something on a topic that gets searched for (read: fads)
