2006-08-23 00:32:08

You've got it backwards. The more money the 'evil corperations' pay internet providers, the more prominant their influence will become in the services. It doesn't mean the poor will no longer be allowed to read the news. OH NOES!

"Good idea, but what the f*ck do we do?" First off, go over to that site and spend a good 5 minutes emailing your congressmen and informing anyone and everyone you know about the site and this. Not enough people know about it. Go to youtube and type in "Save The Internet" for more info as well.
2006-08-23 00:39:48

It's. Your grammar was near perfect other than "Its". This issue is far more important than saving the internet. Please correct your grave error.

WELL I can imagine the underground that will accure if this happens.
2006-08-23 00:53:58

You forgot to mention the fact that Max owns YTMND.com, and would have to pay for "top-tier" service if this bullsh*t actually goes through. As it stands now, he already has to pay ungodly amounts of money to host the site, which is really only paid for by the ads on here. Imagine if he had to pay twice that much to get decent bandwidth to host this massive site on. The death of network neutrality will mean the death of YTMND.
2006-08-23 00:55:35

^^^Holy ****ing sh*t. I never even thought about this...
2006-08-23 00:58:00

I mailed both my senators, and my local representative, about a month ago. The letter to the representative was deemed undeliverable (wrong address is posted on his site, apperantly), one letter to the senator seems to have been ignored, and the other senator sent me a form letter basically saying, "f*ck you" in political-ese.
2006-08-23 00:58:47

Good for you. I sent emails last week actually. No response. >_>
2006-08-23 01:01:37

hey this song was in grand theft auto 1! i remember

This is the ONLY site of yours I didn't 1 in spite for you being an *ssh*l*e. I can't 5 it because I hate your f*cking guts... But I will definitely be spreading the word, and I'll definitely be looking to do my part! THE INTERNET MUST UNITE!
2006-08-23 01:03:07

Ironically, your Description gets silenced by limits imposed the very site you use to campaign for an unrestricted net.
2006-08-23 01:04:12

He's right we all have to work together on this one. For free speech and for YTMND.
2006-08-23 01:06:05

The fates of teh internets are in our hands. Lets make HappyCat proud....
2006-08-23 01:06:46

I damn near emailed anyone and everyone. NOBODY WILL TAKE YTMND FROM US!!!

how could this happen to me?
2006-08-23 01:09:56

Here's something else: You know who will easily be able to afford the "top-tier" services? Ebaumsworld.com. Think about that.
2006-08-23 01:17:49

5 for spreading the word. Origional GTA theme was a great choice btw.
2006-08-23 01:18:29

SAVE THE INTERNET.... WE ARE THE DEFENDERS... YTMND
2006-08-23 01:21:08

I did My part, and emailed my senators. Let us save not only YTMND, but the internets themselves.
2006-08-23 01:21:55

Does this apply to Canadians as well? I assume it does at some level, and even if it doesn't it would still have profound impact on any web site I can think of. Thusly, I made sure to contact as many U.S. Senators as possible, mainly the ones undecided or against Net Nuetrality... Who knew that a moron ranting about the series of tubes could be a beacon for the destruction of basic liberties...
2006-08-23 01:23:26

Well, honestly, I dunno about that one. I would think so, as the internet is worldwide...but you might luck out.
2006-08-23 01:25:40

im a little leary about this site and its "politics". It may be supporting a liberal agenda. i dont completly buy it
2006-08-23 01:25:40

man, F*CK THAT. let's do this
2006-08-23 01:28:07

dont get me wrong, i believe in free-speech as much as the rest of you guys do, but I think this may be a front for supporting liberal politics. Just my two cents
2006-08-23 01:28:12

Liberal agenda? The internet is not a place merely for liberals. Put down the partisanship for a moment, go to the site, and confirm the importance of Net Nuetrality.
2006-08-23 01:29:29

How can you NOT 5 this? ALERT THE INTERNET!!
2006-08-23 01:30:19

So let's think. Who has more power. Big business, like Verizon, Comcast, etc., or Congress? Hmmmmmmmm..........I rest my case.

2006-08-23 01:30:36

0 Because I'm already on board, and I cannot really vote because I don't think this is the right use for YTMND, yet I do agree. I'll 5 it if you change the music to "Bring Tha Noise!" by Public Enemy and Anthrax.
2006-08-23 01:32:17

I would sincerely like to shake your hand. Anyone that downvotes this, should be lined up and shot. I'm getting to work mailing my senators, state reps, etc. SAVE THE MOTHERF*CKIN' INTERNET!
2006-08-23 01:32:20

We must not save just one internet... but all of the internets. Bushisms put to good use... Anyways, whether you think it's liberal or not it's the right thing to do. Neither conservative nor liberal are always wrong or always right, whoever this cause is proposed by, this is one of their party's just causes.
2006-08-23 01:32:30

ok stop sending me hate mail. ill leave politics out of it. SAVE THE INTERNETS
2006-08-23 01:32:34

While it *could* be a problem in the future, the reality is that Net Neutrality is a solution to a non-existing problem.
2006-08-23 01:33:51

Yes Ive already done this because someone else also pointed this out a few months ago I dont remember who, however this was a slightly better presentation and it was very persausive in its arguement. Yes lets indeed be the REAL savoirs of the internet. There is quite a few of us we can make an impact if we all did this.
2006-08-23 01:34:26

Come to think of it, most people that are against it never went on the internet in their lives. lol.
2006-08-23 01:34:42

I just sent letters to my senators.
2006-08-23 01:35:23

PoppinFresh: So we just take this lying down? We're voting citizens, we have the power if we care enough to use it. Also, I almost spelled your name as "PoopinFresh"
2006-08-23 01:36:08

of course this applies to canadians! and even if it didnt, u gunna let the americans suffer? the US has saved our asses several times, its about time we helped out our big brother to the south
2006-08-23 01:37:38

RalphTheMagician: READ THE BILL. Net Neutrality is already in place, the bill (if it passes) will create the problems.
2006-08-23 01:37:57

leonid-brezhnev - I guarantee this will not happen and will just blow over.
2006-08-23 01:38:22

This is a very poorly made YTMND, but the message is right. Fight the good fight, brother.
2006-08-23 01:41:36

Under a free market system this "end of the internet" theory should never actually occur. The only way it could, is through collusion. We already have antitrust laws in place to address this. Whether or not they can hold water, is a whole different issue.
2006-08-23 01:43:15

leonid-brezhnev: Read what bill? There is currently no legal document that has been passed that has anything to do with Net Neutrality. There are documents on both sides, for and against. What bill am I supposed to read?
2006-08-23 01:43:51

Although it is essential to make sure Net Nuetrality stays in place, I doubt very much that it would ever be taken down. I simply cannot imagine the most powerful, unifying, global village style technology we have being killed by bueracracy. Could they be that dense?
2006-08-23 01:44:44

I've already wrote my congressman through their website its very easy, and only takes a minute this is not joke.
2006-08-23 01:44:47

I think some of you are confused also. What [we] want is for a Net Neutrality TO pass, to ensure that the internets stays as it is.
2006-08-23 01:45:02

If someone offered you 5 million dollars for your house, would you? Money is money.
2006-08-23 01:45:25

True. I'm amazed this isn't making more noise. Everyone I tell about it has no idea what's going on but after reading the information they are usually shocked and extremely pissed off.
2006-08-23 01:45:43

I would send an email to ted stevens, but his tubes are always clogged, and he wouldn't get it for a week. YTMND, defends of the internets
2006-08-23 01:47:21

the internet is a big truck. you can dump sh*t on it.
2006-08-23 01:48:06

Exactly, st00pid-n00b. You've all got to remember that the internet is a series of tubes.
2006-08-23 01:50:03

vamp777: Why? It's a non-issue. When all the telecom companies get together and decide collectively to adpot policies that lock out content, then it will become a problem.
2006-08-23 01:51:56

So let me get this right. These companies will determine which content has higher priority and will in turn receive more bandwidth. So logically they will allocate more bandwidth to sites that draw more attention. Ultimately, I will be able to see more porn at faster speeds. I fail to see the problem.
2006-08-23 01:53:16

I'm sure you're all familiar with Ted Steven's "Series of Tubes" Speech. Now realize that he was making that speech as an explaination of his OPPOSITION to net neutrality! Thankfully, I recently moved to alaska so I'll be voting that retard out of office even if I have to vote for hitler to take his place.
2006-08-23 01:55:23

"even if I have to vote for hitler to take his place." what.
2006-08-23 01:55:44

PoppinFresh: lol. No, the fear is this-big telecom will try to make the internet like a cell phone network where you have access to that networks content, and must pay fees and excess charges to communicate in different ways with different networks. In essence, the "end of the internet" where you can only access what your ISP decides you can, and you have to pay extra for every little thing.
2006-08-23 01:56:01

Poor people dont get to surf the tubes
2006-08-23 01:56:54

The reason it's a non-issue is because if your ISP does that...well, you can just switch ISPs. If all ISPs do it, well then we are all fubar.
2006-08-23 01:57:37

So will porn be affected at all?
2006-08-23 01:58:44

They might even block you out completely from sites they don't want you viewing, like slanderous material relating to them. I can see the government wanting this to bribe such companies to cover up mistakes or manipulate information. Knowledge is power, more so now than ever.
2006-08-23 01:58:48

2006-08-23 01:59:34

most that i questioned or needed to say has been answered or said. also i salute you for doing someting instead of knodding your head and carrying on with your day as most would.... but ytmnd as you can see with the ignoranceof fiving for the bgm or use of fads for comments, is not the best place for something of this caliber. but ty i wasnt aware of this until now
2006-08-23 01:59:38

thank you for finally bringing the real issue up, not just the series of tubes. i would have many months ago, buuuuut i donn't really have imageready skills. or imageready.
2006-08-23 01:59:56

"'even if I have to vote for hitler to take his place.' what." perhaps you're not familiar with how elections work. you vote for one person and they get the office. If stevens runs again, I have to vote for someone else to take his place if I don't want stevens. and yes, if your pr0n site is not paying craploads of money to the ISPs for bandwidth, you'll be lucky to get 56k speeds, if the site even loads at all.
2006-08-23 02:00:03

NaroidCRX: But is that necessarily wrong? I'm not disagreeing with you, but if you hate Best Buy and walk into the store and plaster "Best Buy Sucks" signs all of the walls, shouldn't they be allowed to take them down?
2006-08-23 02:03:35

PoppinFresh: Yes. All pr0n will have to be accessed through .prn, and you will have to pay $1 per MB for file downloads.
2006-08-23 02:04:03

"NaroidCRX: But is that necessarily wrong? I'm not disagreeing with you, but if you hate Best Buy and walk into the store and plaster "Best Buy Sucks" signs all of the walls, shouldn't they be allowed to take them down?" If you walked into the street with a sign that said "Bush Sucks," would you expect to be arrested? that's what effectively will happen if net neutrality is abandoned. It'll end up that every blog that says bad things about any given ISP is gonna get their bandwidth killed.
2006-08-23 02:04:31

So you're saying you would want someone in office who killed 6 million jews over someone who used the word "tubes" to describe the internet. The “what” wasn't a misunderstanding of your message, it was a "Wow you're f*cking retarded" reponse. You must've been one of those "Anyone but Bush" Kerry voters.
2006-08-23 02:05:09

4 for effort
2006-08-23 02:05:31

Vote changed for the sake of pr0n.

Ziv: Yes, you would get arrested. If AOL starts blocking anti-AOL sites...don't use AOL. Use Crapcast.
2006-08-23 02:06:58

PoppinFresh: What did the Jews ever do for you?
2006-08-23 02:07:56

lol nopodi carez. mooooooooooooo. In case you haven't noticed, the above is the reaction of the majority of the people on the internet whenever this issue is brought up. Downvote included.
2006-08-23 02:08:00

"Yes, you would get arrested" perhaps you don't live in the United States. You should try reading the first ammendment to the United States Constitution.

Ziv - It's not "to" the United States; it's "of" the United States. Maybe you should learn some grammar before you preach ;-).
2006-08-23 02:10:24

awesome. its eon8 all over again. stupid *ss bills like this get thought up all the time, and they never get passed because a select few people have brains. stop f*cking hyperventilating.

2006-08-23 02:11:14

Ziv: Go into a Best Buy with signs that say "Best Buy Sucks" and paste them all over the walls. Sorry, you can't legally do that. Not even in America. The 1st Amendment doesn't cover defiling someone else's place of business.
2006-08-23 02:11:20

Talk about getting information wrong.

Ziv - Wikipedia AS YOUR SORUCE, ftw.
2006-08-23 02:14:01

This isn't exatly worthy of 5 for presentation and kinda dull for content actually but its important news so I 5 *****
2006-08-23 02:15:22

This could end with a bang or with a whimper. But there is always reason to worry, especially considering the quality of elected officials from both sides of the spectrum these days.
2006-08-23 02:15:31

You know, if Hitler was around he could just get the Jews to lay down some new tubes and create a new, free, unrestricted internet...because you know, Hitler was a great guy like that.
2006-08-23 02:15:55

"Ziv: Go into a Best Buy with signs that say "Best Buy Sucks" and paste them all over the walls." I didn't say that. Flaming an ISP on their own forums is one thing. Flaming them on your own personal website is another. If net neutrality is abandoned, the ISP would be able to censor anyone on any site. It would be like peacefully protesting against Best Buy in a town square and getting arrested because Best Buy doesn't approve.
2006-08-23 02:16:27

Just logged on again because I couldn't sleep...what the hell is all this talk about Hitler??? What happened???
2006-08-23 02:17:02

http://savetheinternet.com/=senatemap?state=IL
2006-08-23 02:17:09

" Ziv - Wikipedia AS YOUR SORUCE, ftw." you do not make ammendments to the United States or of the United States. You make them TO the United States Constitution. I think you missed the word "constitution" in my original message.
2006-08-23 02:17:50

Analogies are sticky things. They tend to imply more meanings than intended.
2006-08-23 02:17:55

I don't think it's a non-issue at all, I think it's something everyone should be concerned about. If Congress gives in to the lobby and doesn't protect net neutrality the big ISPs will undoubtedly ruin the internet with this two tiered garbage and possibly begin the charge people extra fees to access the "normal" internet they had before net neutrality was killed. That to me is an issue. Especially when someone as ignorant of the internet as Ted Stevens is trying to fix something that isn't broken.
2006-08-23 02:17:56

Ziv: But is it? I don't really know. I have no good answer for you. In one sense, it's like censoring an exterior protest, but at the same time it *is* their network.
2006-08-23 02:19:53

The reason I used the Best Buy example is because it makes some good sense. They can effectively limit what people in their stores see, whatever it may be. If you don't like it, don't shop there. It's only a problem if suddenly ALL stores stop your protesting.
2006-08-23 02:21:11

Hitler illustrated the negative affects that smoking has on your health. He gets my vote!
2006-08-23 02:21:57

"Ziv: But is it? I don't really know. I have no good answer for you. In one sense, it's like censoring an exterior protest, but at the same time it *is* their network."In the absence of net neutrality, the ISPs become like the mafia. Don't like that rival store? pay the ISP and the site will just disappear. Also: in what way is an external website "their" network?
2006-08-23 02:22:10

vamp777 hit on the real issue here. Congress doens't know what the internet is. All the senators know is that they need to connect to AOL to look at kiddie porn. Some like kiddie porn, and others don't know how to find it so they don't care. Thus, the controversy over Net Neutrality.
2006-08-23 02:24:06

funny how every current senator against neutrality and for the companies is Republican, when its just the opposite for the democrats. http://www.savetheinternet.com/=senatetally
2006-08-23 02:24:32

"NaroidCRX: But is that necessarily wrong? I'm not disagreeing with you, but if you hate Best Buy and walk into the store and plaster "Best Buy Sucks" signs all of the walls, shouldn't they be allowed to take them down?" That analogy makes no sense. Would you want the internet to be synonomous with a corporation? Saying "best buy sucks" on the net is like saying it sucks on the street. If best buy had authority to take the message down, that'd imply that the message was on their property ie the internet.
2006-08-23 02:24:46

Which is one reason why doddering old white men should give up the reigns to people who still have some sanity left.
2006-08-23 02:25:01

Ziv: But it's only like the mafia if the big telecom companies collude, which is illegal. Otherwise, the first to start censoring will just lose business. Also, while the data might be on another server, it has to travel through their servers. It's like a protester. The protester might be an individual, but if he's on YOUR land then you can tell him to GTFO. Now, if you want to argue that the internet is a "public space" well...that's a different issue entirely.
2006-08-23 02:25:55

Yes, We need Tyrone the crack dealer in office because he knows what life on the street is like.
2006-08-23 02:26:03

I guess this would be my fault that I've divided some of YTMND's members politically....sorry about that.....
2006-08-23 02:26:20

Ralph - true. seems to me that if this really is a serious issue, than instead of the protesting, we should b teaching the ways of the intertubes to the old congressfolk
2006-08-23 02:26:55

right now the internet is free for anyone to speak their mind about anything. It is unbiased. It is not a corporate entity, but rather a series of tubes. once corporate and political entities claim ownership, they can take away the power the people once held, and we'll be once again forced to sit back and watch what we're told to watch.
2006-08-23 02:27:28

Political divisions are transitory. No one is completely a republican or completely a democrat... Yay 4 party Canadian system...
2006-08-23 02:28:46

"right now the internet is free for anyone to speak their mind about anything" That's where a lot of you are mistaken. No, it isn't. Companies can legally limit what you can see, and there are a few examples of that. That's what this stuff is all about. That's why I say it's a non-issue. No net neutrality laws currently exist, and yet there isn't a huge problem (yet).
2006-08-23 02:29:48

Yeah for Canada, who consumes more water, more power, and more big macs per capita than any other country. Hurray!
2006-08-23 02:30:13

The internet has always been to me TV that I decide when and what I want to watch... And not just by people with money on networks with money, but just random crap on some random guy's completely random website... Hey, I wonder what this would do to Wow...
2006-08-23 02:30:57

Not one of these fudgepackers in Congress has a clue about what they are voting on here beyond what the lobbyists have told them after stuffing a fat wad of hundred dollar bills into their pockets. Which is why Net Neutrality will probably die because the side supporting net neutrality has nothing to offer beyond information. Cash > Information unless there is a larger public outcry over this.
2006-08-23 02:31:01

O-M-G. I BETCHA CONAN IS BEHAIND THIS! HE IS GOING TO TAKE THE INTERWEBS AND FORCE EVERYONE TO WATCH HIS CLAPPING HANDS INSTEAD OF PORN! HE IS GOING TO RULE THE FUTURE!!!!!11!!!
2006-08-23 02:31:12

I'm Not Afraid To Die. Just Dont Take Away My Music And I'll Be Fine.
2006-08-23 02:31:36

NaroidCRX: That's the real fear. Pay an extra $5 a month for the "gaming pack" just to play WoW, another $5 for the "music pack" to use iTunes, etc.
2006-08-23 02:33:01

IM TIRED OF THESE MOTHER F*CKING SNAKES ON THIS MOTHER F*CKING CONGRESS!
2006-08-23 02:33:36

I didn't say Canada is perfect... I often use triple dots to show sarcasm or guilt or just an inability to finish a sentence. I'm sorry if I came off particularly "proud" of the system Canada has... And I wouldn't spark Canada-U.S. hatreds... We are in this together...
2006-08-23 02:34:02

RalphTheMagician: I would normally agree with you. I think that businesses should be able to do what they want with their investments. However, the internet has become such a huge thing that the control those ISPs would weild would be tremendous. Say a polititian pays off the ISPs to make it so his opponent's website doesn't work? On one hand, you can't trust the companies, and on the other hand, you can't trust the government to do that job either. I see net neutrality as the only feasible solution.
2006-08-23 02:34:15

Exactly. What matters is that we _all_ hate the Jews.
2006-08-23 02:34:51

Our shield DOES say "Defenders of the Internet"
2006-08-23 02:36:20

Precisely. No matter American, Canadian, or whomever, the jews must go.
2006-08-23 02:36:44

I see what you're saying. But at the same time, I'm allowed to say whatever I want about best buy so long as it isn't on thier site or anything they have direct power over. To say they or any other company has the right to take down what you say about them anywhere on the net is to say it's alright for a corporate entity to invade your space and censor you. It's not them taking down signs on their walls, it's them barging in your house and telling you to drop the subject. not saying this will happen if this
2006-08-23 02:36:44

"and there are a few examples of that." could you site a few? I'ld be interested to find out about these.
2006-08-23 02:37:13

last three frames make me want to vomit. "LoLz. RuN tO tHe WeBsItEs aDn sAvE tEh INTERNETZ!"
2006-08-23 02:37:20

Ziv: True. But, in theory, current anti-trust legeslation should prevent anything from spiraling out of control. It has so far. I can't say that I have any faith in that over the regrouping AT&T.
2006-08-23 02:37:49

does go into effect, just saying it's silly to say a company has the right to take down any negative comments about them on forums, blogs, or the entire web (sorry character limit)
2006-08-23 02:38:49

The Internet isn't something you can just impose bills on its not parking laws, its a worldwide, publicly accessible network of interconnected computer networks that transmit data by packet switching using the standard Internet Protocol (IP)... I apoligize for that... Yay wikipedia...
2006-08-23 02:40:08

I think the real problem at hand hear is pandas. These animals need to start f*cking, srsly.
2006-08-23 02:41:00

"in theory, current anti-trust legeslation should prevent anything from spiraling out of control. It has so far." that's the argument that many of the senators who are against net neutrality are citing, saying that they want to wait to see if it's going to be a problem. However, savetheinternet.com wants it put into law now so we don't have to worry about it being a problem in the first place.
2006-08-23 02:42:48

Consider also that it would be rather difficult not only for any given person to get around the ISP's legal teams, but that it would also be difficult to prove that a crime happened in the first place.
2006-08-23 02:43:58

I agree. I'm very pro-Net Neutrality. I just wonder if it really needs to be the #1 priority right now.
2006-08-23 02:44:46

If you lose the battle at home, don't bother overseas.
2006-08-23 02:46:43

Canada isn't oversees.........At least not until the bombs go off.....*shifty eyes*.....
2006-08-23 02:48:07

F*ck yes
2006-08-23 02:48:16

Hey, what do we have... Besides the world's largest supply of fresh water and the world's second largest supply of oil... And the second greatest land mass of any country...
2006-08-23 02:49:19

And geese.
2006-08-23 02:50:08

comicmaster: "Just logged on again because I couldn't sleep...what the hell is all this talk about Hitler??? What happened???" I made an off-the-wall comment about voting for Hitler rather than Ted Stevens (I live in Alaska, so I get to decide if ted gets another 6 years) For this I apologize. It was offensive and off-topic.
2006-08-23 02:50:43

I have a theory, that if an alternate universe Captain Canada came to this realm and merged with Captain America, it would create a superbeing greater than god itself... That had legs that think it's arms were wusses and arms that think it's legs are warmongerers...
2006-08-23 02:52:59

Now by merge do you mean unite forces or to somehow actually combine matter?
2006-08-23 02:53:57

i'm going to e-riot
2006-08-23 02:54:07

Combine matter... It involves nuetronium and a black hole... And some oil and water for good measure...
2006-08-23 02:55:05

=0
2006-08-23 02:55:08

Good thing I'm rich lol! But yeah, that ain't right to just take away internet rights! I'm not paying my internet just to ge my rights taken away dammit!
2006-08-23 02:55:46

I joined this crusade long ago. I've sent numerous letters and all I got back was one letter from Senatore Kay Baily Hutchinson (R-TX) saying "We have your best interests at heart." Yeah, right you little bitch... Just wait 'til November...
2006-08-23 02:56:10

Oh wow, sounds hot asl?
2006-08-23 02:56:17

And those geese are traitors... They go south for the winter. Wait... How did I end up talking about my theries about geese and superbeings... Also, the letter C is the devil... From now on, use the @ sign as a CH sound...
2006-08-23 02:58:06

We need V.
2006-08-23 03:01:30

The main problem we have with Net Neutrality is that f*cktards like Ted Stevens (and yes, many other politicians) don't have a f*cking clue how the internet works. They, honest to God, think they're actually improving the internet by removing Net Neutrality. Someone needs to fill them in on the real deal, or YTMND as we know it will cease to exist.
2006-08-23 03:02:51

In ea@ instanse where one kould use the letter C, one kan use k or s, then a @ for the CH sound... I was born hating the letter C, and I'll die hating it...
2006-08-23 03:05:31

Those are the elected officials as we know it... Kinda scary, seeing how the internet is one of the most important things of this generation... It's ok if they don't understand kids today, but really, the internet... Am I only one who wishes to kill someone whenever Ted Stevens talks?
2006-08-23 03:07:15

I propose that YTMND and eBaum's join forces in this fight. Eric may be able to pay the companies to keep his site alive NOW, but when all the other sites that he steals content from dissapear eBaum's world will also cease to exist. Eric is just as dirty and underhanded as the politicians. He's just what we need in this fight.
2006-08-23 03:07:51

For great justice!
2006-08-23 03:08:17

I went to there site and looked on where the senators stand. All of the Republicans just want to make money and against net neturality. All of the Democrats are FOR it. I urge you if you can vote to Vote Democrat. The Republicans have put this country to sh*t enough already.
2006-08-23 03:12:49

As Lewis Black put it, "The Democrats, the party of no ideas. The Republicans, the party of bad ideas." What we really need is a leader, not a politician... Not many people running for presidency are more leader than politician... Politics is a symbiotic relationship with leadership, unfortunately, politics can sometimes suck a leader dry... lol, analogy...
2006-08-23 03:15:06

"You've got it backwards. The more money the 'evil corperations' pay internet providers, the more prominant their influence will become in the services. It doesn't mean the poor will no longer be allowed to read the news. OH NOES!" Yea, that's EXACTLY why they want this law to go down. So their competators get the same equal connection they do...Get out of my f*cking country.
2006-08-23 03:16:19

The way I look it at it is that both Parties are total douchebags, The Republicans are just bigger douchebags.

2006-08-23 03:22:56

I have a theory that everything in the world is set up so, at the apocalypse, end of man, w/e, god or satan or whoever is in charge will pop out and yell "LOL, SURPRISE" then time resets. Now im gonna go play unreal tournament...
2006-08-23 03:23:37

do it
2006-08-23 03:37:28

Too bad the referenced site does not mention the fact that some ISPs have offered “tiered” services for years resulting in increased efficiency and better performance for the data that matters (think streaming video, VOIP, etcetera).
2006-08-23 03:38:39

IF your first amendment rights were actually in the process of being violated, (as savetheinternet.com would have you think) the Supreme Court would intervene.
2006-08-23 03:39:09

IF you want to know why the lawmakers are doing little to press the Net Neutrality Act, it might be because they are hesitant to over-regulate a free market – THAT would be government oppression.
2006-08-23 03:39:56

IF you think guys like this: http://ttico.ytmnd.com/ (pro?) or http://sentedstevens.ytmnd.com/, http://personalinternet.ytmnd.com/ (con), should be in any sort of position to influence the development of the Internet (in the U.S. at least) please visit the following informative website - http://internetsuck.ytmnd.com/. =)

ITS A SERIES OF TUBES
2006-08-23 03:42:53

Pretty spooky...but it sounds like something that the news would mention...I haven't seen any report on it. This would effect so many people...it deserves more attention.
2006-08-23 04:07:43

lol, Canadian - no 1st Amendment! But yes I understand how America is trying to steal our internets.
2006-08-23 04:11:48

sh*t, i better sell my car too, since a few greenpeace people have told me that we're all going to die because of emissions if i keep driving daily. i'm really not too scared of some corporation taking control of the internet.
2006-08-23 04:11:50

These powerpoint presentations are going to turn me into an inkdrinker I swear.
2006-08-23 04:15:06

Individual solicitation of congressman is likely not to do much. There has to be a swelling response, unfortuantely the Media is directed by those who do not want this to happen so word is not that easy to get out. There are several levels of action that need to be taken, each dependent on the severity of the problem relative to time passed.
2006-08-23 04:17:53

Make people on video game sites and other popular sites aware, if you can gather enough who care, do real life campaings where you announce what is happening directly to people. Preferably obtaining an Ice Cream truck and a bull horn. If such efforts fail and things become dire... well that would be a real revolution with blood spilt (if people actually cared about their rights that is.) Let's hope it doesn't get there.
2006-08-23 04:20:02

I live in the UK so I can't help save the internet for you people in the USA. sorry.
2006-08-23 04:21:14

any one who downvotes is a dirty congress man
2006-08-23 04:33:45

all this is great and all but who wants to pony up the million or seven hundred to make congress want to listen? you could make slideshow ytmnds until the tubes explode and nobody that can do anything is going to look at them. write letters my ass, those end up in some bored intern or overworked clerk's inbox that are skimmed where it gets deleted.
2006-08-23 04:36:48

i went to the website and petetioned my local government and state senator. net neutrality will happen, unfortunately, because not enough people are doing anything about it, no more ytmnd
2006-08-23 04:39:45

A good choice of subject matter, but a poor delivery on an important issue...

2006-08-23 05:01:42

ohh btw i sent out emails and letters to my senators, all either got ignored or i was told that i dont understand what the internet realy is.
2006-08-23 05:01:49

man your own jackhammer! man your battlestations! but seriously, with representatives like ted stevens supporting it, it will probably defeat itself.
2006-08-23 05:02:16

-1 for "revolution in the worst way one can imagine". Are millions going to die if this legislation passes? Somehow I doubt it. Exxageration kills your point. Stick to the facts.
2006-08-23 05:03:47

FOR THE INTERNETS!!!!!
2006-08-23 05:05:32

The internet is indeed serious business.
2006-08-23 05:05:49

Just a little side note to the Americans writing letters to your congresspeople. Please don't forget to include a plea for those they place on the internet regulatory committees to know WHAT THE F*CK THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT! At least put a computer scientist or something in the room to tell the Senators when they are totally clueless.
2006-08-23 05:13:15

5'd for Real saving of the internets
2006-08-23 05:15:57

Blame the magic hat people who because they wear hats are better then us for this one. Until then, you are just wasting time.
2006-08-23 05:31:13

I called Senator Kennedy and left the message from Savetheinternet.com. Come on YTMND. If we band together we can make a dent. We're a laaaarge group of like-minded people who have the amazing talent of coming together for a common cause. Eric Bauman is a crook. So we're doing out best to stop him. Someone lit a cat on fire, So we started an anti-animal abuse phenomenon on the internet. When someone stole our logo? We had him closing shop in 2 f*cking days. So I say COME TOGETHER YTMND SOLDIERS! Go! Go!
2006-08-23 05:39:29

I'll be damned if some disgusting fatbody is going to treat our internets like a big truck.
2006-08-23 05:54:27

also c*cks
2006-08-23 05:58:18

good job
2006-08-23 06:11:17

FFFFFF, ok. Try it now.
2006-08-23 06:18:57

I called about 9 congressmen's offices, I think I actually spoke to one and told him I'm happy with his decision (he was out of state and pro net neutrality). I think the fact that we even have to fight our congress to do the RIGHT thing and not go out of their way to f*ck us shows that this country is in serious need of an overhaul (execute corrupt officials for treason plz)
2006-08-23 06:27:50

Also: F*ck representative democracy. That's how we got into this situation in the first place; we need to put direct democracy in place, similar to what they had in Athens. Imagine what would happen? Someone would 'nay the net neutrality bill, and at the end of his short term would be thrown into exile... now THAT is a government by, for, and to meet the needs of the people
2006-08-23 06:33:13

Serious business rite here.
2006-08-23 06:37:18

LETS DO THIS LEROY!!!!!!!
2006-08-23 06:39:14

WE MUST FIGHT!!!!
2006-08-23 06:43:09

Let's get serious here: the abandoning of net nuetrality would not limit your first Amendment rights: that's just extreme spin. It would just allow ISPs to charge you for internet access in the manner that they charge for cable TV. An "all-inclusive" package would be available. Don't get me wrong, I don't like the idea, but be honest.
2006-08-23 06:46:23

America is one f*cked up country, people buy the presidency and people sell their freedom.
2006-08-23 06:56:58

How does this affect the rest of the world? Why is this argument so strongly based on the US with amendments and senators and all that?
2006-08-23 06:58:30

I live in the UK, I find it terrible that a USA government decision on net neutrality could have negative influences on my country!
2006-08-23 07:00:59

While a real issue, I die of laughter when I read that people "sent letters to their senators" or "left a message on their voicemail". If you're so angry and afraid, go to Washington and protest for all the gods sake. Burn down the White House. Do SOMETHING. All you're doing now is sit on your *ss and hope something will happen, patting yourself on the back saying: "I did my part." Well, clearly, you're not.
2006-08-23 07:05:16

This is a moot point, my mental domination of all congressmen is mere days away, then I shall make sway what all wish, make it known and it shall be so, downvoters need not apply ^_^
2006-08-23 07:10:37

Thanks for telling us sh*t we knew about months ago

2006-08-23 07:15:10

It's not just gonna "blow over". That mentality is the reason America is rotting from the inside right there. People don't give a sh*t, they just figure the same government bodies that f*ck them over are somehow going to take care of the problems THEY themselves are creating, and everything will be fine and blow over. So we shouldn't worry about it or think about it or do any work, we'll just leave it up to them. If you havn't noticed, they've been taking away our rights little by little for years now, and
2006-08-23 07:16:04

1'd for f*cking stupidity. Net neutrality has nothing to do with free speech. Stop abusing the term you stupid commie.
2006-08-23 07:17:17

everyone just goes, "Oh, don't worry, it'll be fine.".. And take a very close look at the patriot acts and tell me we're not moving towards a police state. That's something to worry about.
