Sweet, man
2006-07-21 19:05:03

I'd 5 if it synched better.
2006-07-21 19:20:35

quite pleasant.
2006-07-21 19:21:31

That's not how to properly execute a square wave! Learn from the master: http://squarewave.ytmnd.com
2006-07-21 19:22:05

That's awesome! Is that how music files actually work? Sound like a theme for some RPG on the SNES
2006-07-21 19:28:21

it starts to desync after a while...But good job. 255 notes!
2006-07-21 19:31:15

It kind of lags near the end but I still enjoyed it.
2006-07-21 19:40:22

"quite pleasant."
2006-07-21 19:40:42

This was awesome. It sounds like Marble Madness on the NES.
2006-07-21 19:43:36

loop is bad, but otherwise: cool
2006-07-21 19:50:05

Great! its now my ringtone :P
2006-07-21 20:11:21

I've tried this in IE6 and Firefox 1.5.0.4 and they both sync great. I don't understand what the sync problem is.
2006-07-21 20:18:49

It's probably better than the original now that he messed it up with the non-epic Epic ending. Reminds me of something out of Metroid.
2006-07-21 20:19:58

hypnotic...
2006-07-21 20:24:24

Sync is perfect in Firefox 2.0
2006-07-21 20:29:02

The picture is faster than the sound for me. I'm on Firefox 1.5.0.4...
2006-07-21 20:49:11

jolly good show chap, i say that dot number 5 has got star writen all over him
2006-07-21 20:52:40

If i tune out everything except the note represented by the first bit while watching the first circle change back and forth, it does go off. then the picture finishes before the sound. still, cool how you made a nice tune just by incrementing some binary sequence over and over.
2006-07-21 20:54:52

cool
2006-07-21 20:55:02

It's surprisingly musical.
2006-07-21 21:09:15

sounds like indie music. Love it.

i dont think enough people will realize how amazing this is
2006-07-21 21:21:34

you should teach roy4l how to create cool things on yer own without being a selfpromoting nonsensical ethereal f*ggot
2006-07-21 21:45:22

needs more 3500hz square wave
2006-07-21 21:49:21

8 bit sound makes the best music IMO
2006-07-21 21:53:04

What on Gods earth have I created?
2006-07-21 21:55:40

That music was depressing.
2006-07-21 22:03:07

You make me happy.
2006-07-21 22:04:50

I love it. I think I'll be playing this constantly for awhile.
2006-07-21 22:08:54

trippy
2006-07-21 22:13:04

Nice, and it's also counting in binary!
2006-07-21 22:14:39

As a musician I can honestly say this was nothing short of inspiring. The fact that you even thought to do something like this is awesome... the music is surprisingly good. One question, did you start and end with C?
2006-07-21 22:20:05

Excellent excellent work. Most genuinely creative YTMND I have seen in a long time.
2006-07-21 22:22:22

Win like never before!
2006-07-21 22:29:22

I love my things getting attention, even if I didnt submit them myself.
2006-07-21 22:30:38

Dont get it but its cool
2006-07-21 22:37:24

2006-07-21 22:55:09

very cool!
2006-07-21 23:04:45

Loses sync after a while before it's finished, but awesome work nonetheless.
2006-07-21 23:06:19

Not even beeping spots can save, um, beeping spots. Taco Bell is open late... did you skip work this evening?
2006-07-21 23:12:00

this is amazing
2006-07-21 23:16:17

2006-07-21 23:43:46

sorry, 5
2006-07-21 23:53:12

zaz, do you have stairs in your house?
2006-07-22 00:28:27

synch is fine for me. 5 regardless
2006-07-22 00:39:17

I was expecting NEDM to pop out about 10 seconds before you'd figure it would end. Oh well. Very relaxing, though. :)
2006-07-22 00:51:18

f*cking good stuff.
2006-07-22 00:55:23

2006-07-22 01:06:19

Stick with this, stay away from Family Guy YTMNDs.
2006-07-22 01:07:38

I think computer speed also affects synch.
2006-07-22 01:10:38

I really like this, and I don't know why. It reminds me of Suicide Club.
2006-07-22 01:36:03

Music is math.
2006-07-22 01:57:54

square waves hurt me
2006-07-22 02:13:52

Here, take it, all my win.
2006-07-22 02:16:36

I C WUT U DID THR!!! Each switch plays a different tone. So it's a audio binary counter.
2006-07-22 02:19:28

meh
2006-07-22 02:20:47

nice! the universe is clever!
2006-07-22 02:28:09

Reminds me of jim ether. www.perisarc.com
2006-07-22 02:45:46

5 for effort
2006-07-22 03:15:33

2006-07-22 03:15:35

The end reminded me of earthbound
2006-07-22 03:25:58

Lol nice binary music
2006-07-22 03:27:21

too annoying
2006-07-22 04:47:33

4'd for artistic effort
2006-07-22 04:52:19

starting to get stale...
2006-07-22 05:32:33

It's music in binary form!
2006-07-22 06:41:47

After listening I can now solve directionally parametric calculus functions in my head, and my microwave talks to me.
2006-07-22 06:42:05

101100001110000...2!!!!!!!!
2006-07-22 07:04:32

110111010001110011101001101010101011101010111!
2006-07-22 07:26:24

being a musician, i can tell you everything about how all the notes mesh together to create a good sound, and wavelengths and stuff, but i think 5ing this is more simply done
2006-07-22 07:45:23

sounds nice
2006-07-22 07:57:21

It's... so... beautiful... :')
2006-07-22 07:59:29

Cool, counting in binary :D
2006-07-22 08:11:30

Not quite synced, but fun nonetheless
2006-07-22 08:11:49

good
2006-07-22 08:20:01

tight and well sync'd.
2006-07-22 08:35:49

is it just me...or is that binary...
2006-07-22 08:37:46

nice sync
2006-07-22 08:43:45

Very, very nice
2006-07-22 08:45:13

garbaaage
2006-07-22 08:54:06

That works really well! It kind of acoustically represents binary, if that makes any sense. The other one stays on my favorites for the obscure Finnish ditty, this one gets a 5. Sound fair?
2006-07-22 08:57:29

That was awesome.
2006-07-22 09:05:45

You are S-M-R-T Smart.
2006-07-22 09:08:29

This sounds like every Postal Service song ever made. Stupid Postal Service.
2006-07-22 09:16:54

waste of time and loling.
2006-07-22 09:34:05

Awesome stuff.
2006-07-22 09:38:32

2006-07-22 10:18:53

It's binariffic!
2006-07-22 10:24:19

the notes are now in the description, keep in mind they are listed LSB to MSB which means in the animation they represent the dots from right to left. I was trying to follow a major scale in the mapping of notes to bits, let me know if I made any mistakes. Thanks!
2006-07-22 10:28:45

ORGASM
2006-07-22 10:31:44

phenomenal.
2006-07-22 10:33:44

Very clever.
2006-07-22 10:40:42

who would've thought counting to 255 would've made such beautiful music?
2006-07-22 10:51:43

you should submit something to the ytmnd remix project @ remixytmnd2.ytmnd.com
2006-07-22 11:00:57

fix the sync till its perfect and u get a five
2006-07-22 11:03:32

This changed my life by making me realise that computers run on music. This is my new religion.
2006-07-22 11:09:23

Wow...
2006-07-22 11:11:14

Holy god sh*t penis damn f*ck buckets n****r. That is one of the most awesome things I've seen. People who downvote this don't understand how sweet this really is. You should use a preloader or tell them to refresh, because as it is the music loads quicker than the picture and they need to be going at the same time to get the effect you intend, which is so f*cking unbelieveably sweet.
2006-07-22 11:13:17

When I reached the loop point and it started over, My head felt... empty and alone. /emo
2006-07-22 11:26:05

I was expecting NEDM when they all lit up.
2006-07-22 11:27:25

Wow; I didn't realize what was going on at first, though. Maybe put the note name under each dot?
2006-07-22 11:27:56

Needs some portamento.
