Art theivery is in the eye of the beholder as much as art is especially when it's subtle. Like sayyyy taking a popular internet video then linking it to a classic ytmnd through slight homages in the sound and site design. Which is why I didn't 1 this, because like most good sites this isn't "stolen. cited, but stolen."

Wobbles, you are trying to call me a hypocrite but are missing the point. I made a joke (a political one at that) out of a very reverent ytmnd (that one is stolen but cited, from NASA). Mine is a shift in context...a sample that has been recontextualized by a second sample. Your Pong site is simply a change in venue. Correct?

Incorrect, or at least I would like to thinks so (granted I'm biased). I think the joke of the Human Pong page is made by contextualizing it with a classic original ytmnd tie.ytmnd.com. Tie is a page which shows the futility of gameplaying, and a mentality of winners vs. losers competition. Perticularly, this is seen in the selection of Mad World as the background music, the infinate looping nature of the gif and also of the highly ironic use of keyword abuse to boost page views.

Guillaume Reymond effort to recreate the game using people challenges that conception of game playing in a very important way, by displaying the game as a communal and cultural activity, not merely a desolate waste. By juxtaposing the two clips (By adding Mad World below the sound effects, and by making sure the image looped instead of concluding like Reymond's original video does, the dual nature of Pong and, by extention, competition is more fully explored then either piece does alone.

I might be the only person who would or did notice that, but I generally create pages for only two reasons: My personal enjoyment or because someone else's art deserves a larger audience. Like you said, this was at least partially a change of venue to increase the audience, but I found the point-counterpoint nature of the site enjoyable enough for me.
