Global Warming may exist. You could argue that the greenhouse gases produced by humanity are changing the environment. Or you could argue that the Earth is going through a natural change. Just as there were multiple ice ages, and multiple hot periods during the Earth's history.

First off let me say this is a disputable subject and I am iffy on this. Furthermore, CO2 helps agricultural growth as tested in Arizona; with double CO2 the crops grew 50% faster. Secondly it has been said that the melting of icecaps and such will raise the sea level 10-20 feet even so since the artic icecap is floating it can not increase the sea level as it has displaced all the water it can.

Temperatures in Antartica are 50oC below zero in its interior and about 20oC below zero along its coasts. It would take much more warming to even start melting the icecaps. Over the past 25-50 years recording stations have experienced a 2oC warming, while others a 2oC cooling.

Also the Enviromental News Network, who strongly supports global warming, made a statement that the west Anartica ice sheet isnt melting and hasnt been stable over the last century.

There was two men who discovered two World War II aircrafts 268 below the ice surface... Further investigation reveals that these 2 aircraft were being ferried to England on July 15, 1942 when an artic storm forced them to land on Greendland's icecap. Hence, these planes have been buried by a growing icecap over 57 years.

Antarctica is showing a net loss of ice, but then again I shouldn't be expecting some who thinks it's just a giant icecube floating on the ocean to legitimate research.

I think he means to say that he wants his existing inland property to become beachfront - in which case, he'd still have to deal with inhospitable and virulent weather the likes of which would make any beachfront miserable.

Personally, I'd rather welcome a gradual and natural ice age, than f*cking up the earths environment and weather patterns. If an ice age would occur, we'd have the right technology to deal with it anyway.

The arctic icecap is floating, it cannot increase the ocean level because it already has displaced all the water it can. Try it out. Place ice in a glass and fill it to the very top with water. It will not overflow as the ice melts.

Whether this is a cycle or not, I gurantee you none of us will be alive when this happens. I personally, am moving to the moon with my girlfriend. There we shall mate and create a new race; anyone else is welcome to come.

numbers like 1 foot and 1 degree seem small to people, but its not so simple - a global rise of 3 feet would dislocate 100 million people, and a 1 degree raise isnt a global constant - annual arctic temps would be up 5-10 degrees, 13-15 degrees over water. as for the cutesy polar bears, just a few degrees is enough to ruin the habitat of the fish, which in turn leads to emaciated polar bears, which we are now seeing .

It's my understanding - and I am by no means a biologist - that polar bears can only swim so far before they just tire out and drown; and it does happen due to glacier melting. Oh, and for the record, I got the picture of the polar bear from the cover of TIME magazine's recent global warming issue, in case you've not been to the check out counter at your local CostCo to see the current magazine issues.
