thanks--yes, I will be there also.
2006-06-29 16:43:19

how did you do that?
2006-06-29 16:47:52

The page at eon8.com/security lists all the sites linking to eon8 whose links have been clicked at least once. The name of the site you're coming from is sent by your browser, and eon8 will believe whatever it says. I faked several such browser requests.

i dont understand. give me an example, i wanna screw with them like everyone else is now.

There may be an easier way, but what I did was start a webserver on my own computer with a single page that had a link to eon8, then changed my "hosts" file so that typing something like "004.youre.the.man.now.dog" would open that page. Clicking the link in the page would add that to eon8's "log"

^^ lol, oh the possibilities...

127.0.0.1... That is the stupidest thing I've ever seen... That means the computer cannot access itself, 127.0.0.1 is localhost.. Big fake.

Nice! I understand how to do it, and how it works, kinda, but I can't seem to do it right :P I put a page with the link on my apache server, but instead of it saying "http request not allowed" and logging it, it just lets me go through to the site O_o And I don't know what the "hosts" file is im a noob :p

Well,keep at it.

Well, someone used this same technique to spam the "security" list on eon8.com/security with all sorts of nonsense about how good or bad ytmnd is. That'll show me for feeding the script kiddies.

It's actually a distribution site for a virus that hasn't been verified. By visiting it you are downloading the virus to your computer so when the countdown hits, you'll be part of the problem... at least that's my guess.
2006-07-01 01:45:08

No. But I could have told you that before the countdown ended.
