All of the sounds of XP were composed by Bill Brown. Look him up. He has also composed the music for a lot of games that you are familiar with (C&C Generals, Rainbow Six 3 etc.)

The very first time I installed XP, which was like 5 years ago, once it finished installing, this music played to a little 3D display of a microsoft XP logo. I never saw it again after installing other times. =(

This is from the final bit before setup, but if Windows doesn't have sound drivers for your soundcard when you install, you won't hear it.

Windows fails at installing sound drivers first.

Nothing new. When you take the tour when you first intall Windows XP, it's that music.

The whole thing is 16 minutes long! Wow though, I never expected Microsquish of being able to produce something this... rhythmic. Kudos on the discovery.

not secret at all. buy any prebuilt PC from best buy or something and when you first run it and set up your windows user info, this plays (because like people said.. sound drivers, duh)
