| Actually, the most likely thing close to a cure for AIDS that I know of is a triple c*cktail of a CD5 cleaving ribozyme, siRNA targeted at HIV and a sequestering protein targeting rev currently in development. Of course, you'd have to deliver it in a lentiviral vector every 2-3 years to regular patients, but if you included hematopoietic stem cells treated with said virus into the treatment, a permanent cure against that strain of HIV may be possible. Of course, due to the extremely high mutation rates and the fact that these studies have not been done in anything outside of mice yet, we don't really know how permanent the cure may be, but it keeps the viral load down ridiculously low for at least 2 years. | ||||||

They collected samples of it and took it back to America. When they discovered it could be used to cure aids, they went back to the spot where they origionaly found them.
