Description: 100 Years summed up in 100 Frames. (YES, there are exactly 100 Frames in this GIF.) Also, Note to those who complain about the animation going too fast: It's supposed to do that. It's like the trailer to A Clockwork Orange. So, stop asking me to slow

2006-03-18 11:08:29

Close, He's Emiliano Zapata.
2006-03-18 11:36:31

1) Yes, there are exactly 100 Frames. It just goes really fast. 2) I used Nagasaki over Hiroshima. 3) I used the keyboard version of William Tell Overture, which was on the Clockwork Orange Soundtrack.
2006-03-18 11:47:56

WOW! Awesomesauce.
2006-03-18 12:11:00

Very cool, this is a solid YTMND.
2006-03-18 14:49:42

Do the years and frames match up perfectly? I slowed it down and counted about 10 frames that would have occured between 1939 and 1945
2006-03-18 14:54:19

No, I didn't get a frame from every single year, as some years, nothing noteworthy really happened. I just focused on the major events of the 20th Century.
2006-03-18 18:16:32

...I love you. History for win.
2006-03-18 18:41:44

2006-03-18 18:57:39

2006-03-18 20:35:41

Nice
2006-03-18 22:03:37

I really, really doubt that that song originated in A Clockwork Orange, which by the way sucks.
2006-03-19 01:40:36

Adverb: A Clockwork Orange had a truly horrid soundtrack of old classical songs on bad synthesizers. This is from the scene where Alex is having sex in fast forward.
2006-03-19 02:12:55

http://ytmndcentury.ytmnd.com/ There, it's finally done. Thanks, AlCreed!

2006-06-25 02:38:49

I stared at it until my eyes crossed, "magic image" style, and the page appeared to be floating in front of the screen. Whoa.

Very cool, one of my new favorites.
2006-07-01 14:06:20

If you sit there and stare at it for just a couple minutes, you actually learn something
2006-07-02 12:32:58

did you search google image for each year?
2006-07-02 13:56:28

ahhh too fast it needs a slow down a bit so i can see them
2006-07-22 07:50:49

I hated A Clockwork Orange. My own opinon, but I think it went on way too long and really had no point. But anyways; great job.
2006-07-22 07:55:33

originally I gave you a 4, but I had to bump it up to 5 after reading the comments. You're not the normal Clockwork Orange junkie running around screaming its the most disturbing movie ever made; you've actually got some education.
2006-07-25 13:10:05

nice

2006-08-06 20:32:50

You should do, as a sequel, the 21st century (so far): six years in six frames.
2006-08-12 04:06:14

Loser downvoters.
2006-08-12 16:34:24

I was getting a 5 ready when I read you listed that "William Tell Overture" originated from Clockwork Orange. Do a little extra research
2006-08-13 20:46:00

5 because I understand all of them
2006-08-14 10:55:24

That version of the William Tell overture DOES originate from A Clockwork Orange. If you can't tell the difference between the original and a technofied version, LostPenguin, maybe you should be doing the research. Snap!
2006-08-14 10:56:26

5'd for the Y2K.
2006-08-18 19:12:39

PURE WIN
2006-08-21 12:44:47

2006-08-23 00:25:44

5 for history.
2006-08-26 04:01:02

Seiiiizuuuure! Excellent work.
2006-08-30 15:16:50

Very well done, only one complaint... I saw Che in there more than I saw anyone else.
2006-08-30 19:24:10

Actually, Lenin, Hitler, Churchill, Stalin, FDR, Kennedy, Mao, Nixon, Saddam, and John-Paul II make two appearances, along with Che. The pictures I used were the best I could find to encapsulate a particular event or essence to represent them.
2006-08-30 19:25:00

Also, to be honest, Stalin appears the most in this YTMND (One portrait, one picture of Yalta, and one picture of a decapitated statue head.
2006-08-31 11:12:37

Sick, A Clockwork Orange is awesome, and not to mention I love obsucre history, you had Pancho Villa in there if what I saw was right.
2006-09-08 19:30:57
