2006-02-28 05:16:01

I was expecting an 8-bit remix of the music...but I wasn't expecting an 8-bit quality digitized voice. You're the man now, dog!
2006-02-28 05:21:32

I wonder how much space that voice-over would have taken for those old-school game paks...
2006-02-28 05:36:36

=)
2006-02-28 05:42:45

It needs more consistency...
2006-02-28 05:43:51

Marvellous
2006-02-28 06:02:22

*begs for an explanation of how to make NES-sounding music the way you did*
2006-02-28 15:00:32

Well, making the NES music the way I did isn't very easy, but you just use the tools at http://www.geocities.co.jp/Playtown-Denei/9628/ - there's a little tutorial in the "Make NSF" section. You'll also need an NSF player to hear the results.
2006-02-28 15:01:51

A much easier way is to use http://nesdev.parodius.com/nt2/ - but it's not as flexible and I don't think it can do digital sounds like voices.
2006-02-28 15:03:21

Correction: NerdTracker DOES have digital sound support.
2006-02-28 15:43:27

2006-02-28 19:13:04

2006-02-28 19:13:09

Excellent! Auto 5 for NES!
2006-02-28 19:13:13

I just thought I'd point out that the NES ST:TNG game was utter crap.
2006-02-28 19:39:51

*whines* STILL CONFUZZLED! THE PROGAMS ARE TOO HAAAAAARD!
2006-02-28 20:08:35

2006-02-28 20:09:50

tealkitten70 - yeah, I know. It's a shame, isn't it? I think they had a great idea that they totally botched.
2006-02-28 20:21:26

5 for picard. long live the king of all fads, and the one that got me addicted to ytmnd in the first place
2006-02-28 20:24:30

2006-02-28 20:47:46

2006-02-28 20:52:26

I am Captain Picard, and I approve this message. (Paid for by Captain Jeanluc Picard for president 2364)
2006-02-28 20:53:22

2006-02-28 21:24:49

Also cocks.
2006-02-28 21:26:57

FLAWLESS VICTORY!
2006-02-28 21:35:27

It is good, but the NES could _not_ make that music.
2006-02-28 21:43:39

dalponis - what do you want, an NES ROM to prove it? The NES most definitely can make that music, it'd just be too big to actually put in a video game. ;)
2006-02-28 21:46:50

picard = instant 5
2006-02-28 21:52:36

OMG CONEHEADZZ!! 5'd
2006-02-28 21:53:54

2006-03-01 12:56:53

2006-03-01 22:24:13

2006-03-01 22:49:01

Nice, 5'd
2006-03-02 09:18:03

I like either one, but I'm another vote towards going back to USS.
2006-03-02 09:54:45

OK, since so many want the original back, gimme a minute and I'll restore it... I'll create a separate YTMND for the "N.E.S. Enterprise", which you can all downvote if you want, I don't care ;)
2006-03-02 18:11:32

HAH! You win 1701 NCC Internets
2006-03-11 00:42:13

Love the nes sound :]
2006-03-17 16:37:19

Man, I want to be able to make something like this, but none of the programs that makes the music work on my windows XP comp. :/ I wish I could get the NSF you used for this site off of you.
2006-03-17 17:34:55

ManicH6 - lucky for you, I had already uploaded it. http://www.furrykef.com/music/picard.nsf
2006-03-17 17:36:14

Oh, and mck should work fine on Windows XP. That doesn't make it easy to use, though... hehe
2006-03-17 17:50:56

Nice! Thanks alot. :) And yeah I know, it works but sure as hell isn't easy to work with.
2006-03-20 11:34:12

Cute, good NES tracking.
2006-06-23 18:34:49

2006-08-04 18:26:25

Zorilla - just get the NSF (currently at http://www.furrykef.com/impl/music/picard.nsf) and play it at whatever sample rate you want.

2006-09-17 14:55:32
