To my experience, the sound went on and off quite a bit faster than that (like at the rate in my NES Not Working site), but still, 4 for the idea. 8)

Mine shows it as green, sometimes red. I think it varies NES to NES.

aw man! I miss that blinking screen, the nostalgia makes my face warp... some emulators should do that and you'd need to reset the game for it to work, just to remind us all of the origional nintendo!

BLOW THE DAMN CARTRIDGE

Don't blow. Moisten one end of a cotton swab in rubbing alcohol. Then rub it across each side of the edge connector. Repeat with the dry side.

The error color actually varies from unit to unit. A lot of them are gray, but mine's actually rawther bright yellow.

when you can see the title screen, you have to press reset to make it stop blinking.

Mine was different every time. Usually it was gray, sometimes blue or pink, and I've seen many other colors at random times too. x_x
