In the Sunday, July 30 issue of The Washington Post, Frank Ahrens wrote an article entitled "A Home For Quick Hits" about YTMND.com in which he says "YTMND is more than just an excellent work time-waster. It's the perfect manifestation of how the Internet enables artists -- and would-be artists -- to express themselves in ways not previously available."

In the March 2006 issue of Stuff Magazine, there is a mention of the original "You're the Man Now Dog" site. stuff.ytmnd.com shows a photo of the mention.
In March 2006, Gamerevolution.com held a contest for video game themed YTMNDs. The winner won a PSP as a prize. Entries are here.
On the February 29, 2006 episode of Attack of the Show! viewers were asked to " Make a kickass YTMND" for the show's "User Created" segment.
On February 13, 2006, The Wall Street Journal printed a full page article entitled "The Problem With Parody" and quotes Max with a mention of YTMND.
In December of 2005 CNN featured a segment where the owner of a recently deceased pet views a YTMND and is brought to tears.
The site received further publicity when The Wall Street Journal published an article about ytmnd.com and mentioned several popular YTMND creations, linking to many of them through their website.
In 2005, CNN wrote an article that linked to ytmnd.com titled "Tom Cruise Kills Oprah", a reference to a popular YTMND. MSNBC also featured an article linking to the same YTMND.
The original "Tom Cruise Kills Oprah" video on which the YTMND is based has also been mentioned on Dateline NBC's "The Mank Blog" segment, VH1's show "Web Junk 20" and CBC Newsworld's "The Hour with George Stroumboulopoulos".
